1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Industrial sheet plastic on: August 11, 2017 11:39:33 AM
Does anyone ever use industrial sheet plastic for their work. We have scrap plastic in several materials and sizes at my job that we discard and i have been given the ok to take. Wondering if anyone can use some. Some significant widths. This is not 1/4 inch thick material. Like inch plus.
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Vintage Sheet Swap???? on: June 01, 2012 07:26:04 PM
I was able to find two great vintage sheets and a vintage pillow case set at a thrift store this week.  I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a fat quarter swap where I cut up a few sheets and get some other patterns to coordinate.  Would others be open to this?  Maybe we can offer Far Quarters or varied sizes squares of 10x10 or 6x6..... we can do a random swap or we can post pics and request specific pieces.  If we can get a handful of people to agree I will be happy to host!!!

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My first big bag! Wool Messenger Bag! on: January 05, 2010 08:10:13 PM
So I am doing this 50 projects for 2010.  I am not sure why but I decided to attack what I had initially thought was project far beyond my capabilities but I did it!  And I could not be happier!

I found this tutorial on Emily's So Much For My Plans blog:  http://somuchformyplans.blogspot.com/2009/09/mail-bag-tutorial.html

And I thought... I really like this and I have that awesome coat wool that I think would be perfect to use!

So I took  my chances on using the gray wool that I was coveting and I could NOT BE HAPPIER!  I honestly did not think I could do it!

This is the front

This is the inside of the bag... I figured out how to make the pockets out of the lining ( I know not complicated for sewers but I was proud of myself)

This is the pocket I made on the front... has velcro closure and it is folded so it is expandable!

Ok so I know that this may not be a huge deal for some experienced sewers but for me I could not be more excited!  It is 18 inches long and 15 inches wide.... the strap is probably too long but it is perfect being across the body which I like to do!

I am VERY open for comments and criticisms!  I am still learning!
7  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Need Help with Making Lip Scrub on: November 03, 2009 07:56:22 AM
I saw one post but I did not know if there was enough information, I am looking for information on how to make a lip scrub, from sugar if possible.  I can not find a recipe.... any help greatly appreciated.
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Suggestions for First Bag Attempt for New Sewer! on: March 28, 2009 08:47:41 PM
I purchased my first sewing machine last week and I feel comfortable with the first project that I wanted to accomplish, a headband. I have made 7 total in three styles and I think they all look pretty decent (I have posted pictures in my profile, please feel free to comment)

I would like to use the same fabrics to make some bags to increase my skills and I would love to hear from some more experienced sewers who can tell me what would be easy enough that I don't get frustrated but will help me get more used to my machine and increase my skills.

I appreciate any feedback and guidance that you could give!
Thanks in advance!
