4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Ideas for a "Waiting" blanket on: December 16, 2009 11:03:04 PM
My fiancee left me ( He went on a ship and will not be back for seven months or eight) so I need a tide me over project to do while he's away. I need an idea for something to cheer me up, something to do while I am pining away for him.

I want colorful or at least big projects (afghans are ideal) that I could make while he's away.

I want to start this week, I miss him badly

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Blue and Yellow Cubes Blanket NOW DONE! on: November 26, 2009 04:47:51 PM
It took me almost three months to finish this. Its my first blanket. It is also the biggest project to date. I love the fact that its aqua blue and yellow, our favorite colors. It is made up of 24 10 inch squares/cubes and it is geometric in design. It took about 120 balls of yarn. BUT IT WAS SOOO WORTH IT

I made it for my sailor fiancee. Its a labor of love which I made because he is embarking on a seven month trip on sea. He says that its cold at sea and he wants to remember my hugs when he's there. So here's the solution. I love it.

I know i made a mistake in sewing them in a pattern but i think the randomness of this afghan is definitely me.
