1  Late Nights=(involves jeans, paint and a lot of pix) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by mermaidsvoice on: May 02, 2006 08:41:38 PM
Hi! I've made jean skirts for forever (who hasn't?) but they are a main staple in my wardrobe (I've got five). I got a little sick of people always stopping me and complimenting me because they'd ask if I sold them and I'd never have a store to send them to. Finally my fiance decided to help out and split an etsy store with me. I also feature jewelry and shirts and the like. Here are some of my recent creations. I'm so in love with the owl shirt. I hope you like them!

2  My take on Headphone jewelry in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by mermaidsvoice on: April 18, 2006 05:28:43 PM
Hi! I'm new to the board. Usually I just hang around the clothing board, but I was checking it out here last week and found a few posts (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=70958.0) dealing with headphone jewelry. I adored it and remembered I had a few pairs of broken headphones (and a new Def Lepard T-shirt from Goodwill). So I clipped and brainstormed and came up with this. Pictured is 1 earring with both ear peices as it's charm, 1 earring with a part of a CD as it's charm, a necklace with the jack as a charm, and a Barbie boombox made into a necklace. I still have one pair they go over the head, not just in the ear. I kind of want to figure a way to make them into a crown or something. We'll see.

EDIT:  sorry for the REALLY small pic. It's of the Barbie Boombox necklace with the Jack necklace, but I guess I reduced it too much. ;_;

If you like these (or E.T.) please check out my etsy store. username: artandsewl

3  Re: re: Show off your hair! in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by mermaidsvoice on: April 15, 2006 11:14:17 AM
...and finally just for kicks, here's a picture of when I dressed up like Clementine (from eternal sunshine of the spotless mind) for my boyfriend's birthday:

That is hot hair. I adore it. (I know that was a jillion posts ago, but I had to say it).

Also- that's why I sign my name GEM. I'm also a Meg (aka) Gem. It's on my posts here and on LJ and everything. I thought that was funny. ^_^ Great minds think alike?

HEARTS! -Gem-  (That's my hair below- naturally curly, dyed brown and pink. I dyed it brown from red because everyone was doing red at my school... only now their all doing brown!)

Thanks for the comments everyone! ^_^ (I'm blushin'.)

Did you freehand the David Bowie? If not would you mind sharing him with me???

I actually used a stencil but I can't remember where I got it from... (am looking right now)... Oh well. I'm just going to post the stencil here. I think I found the stencil on an LJ community, probably a link off of the user info for t_shirt_surgery. I didn't make it, someone else did.

(ahem- nice user pic, CrazyFool. and a friendly "Damn the Man, Save the Empire" to you. ^_~)

5  My "Wardrobe ReVamp" (lots of pics) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by mermaidsvoice on: March 12, 2006 08:32:47 AM
I found the Wardrobe Revamp thread a while ago and decided my closet needed to be fixed, too. Then some computer crap happened and I didn't get my computer back for two months. I figured it'd be a little late to join in now, so I'm just poting what I've done in my own post. Hope you enjoy- I certainly do!

-There should be my favorite pair of jeans that I've doctored up (because they ripped)
-A hoodie I patched and painted
-An angel T-shirt I deisgned and painted
-A grey velvet blazer I cropped and hemmed (and replaced the button)
-My favorite sweater (Gabes) and new jean skirt I made and drew on
-2 pictures of an old lady shirt I added sleeves to and David bowie!
-2 pictures of my Discordia skirt I made and designed. Fnord, for all who understand.
-a picture of my first gypsy skirt made of lip-print flannel.

Before I finish I've got to point out that lately Discordianism is my thing, especially because you're allowed to pick your own saint. Bowie is mine, if you can't tell. And the on going gag between me and friends is W.W.D.D.? - What would Discordia Do?

6  Craftster Virgin, Denim Denim and Denim! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by mermaidsvoice on: November 10, 2005 09:24:42 AM
Hi, I'm Gem, and I'm a new poster but not a new at sewing. I really wanted to share my stuff with you all, so for your veiwing pleasure: (praying to the Gods that I did this right and the pictures work!)

The above is a knee length skirt I made with a random denim ruffle (looks like a whole), patches, and painted stuff. The majority of my clothes are painted on. Also, A cropped shirt that (had I no jiggle belly) I would wear by itself, but made for the purpose of wearing under stuff. Yay plaid T-Shirts!

And now, my favorite skirt:

Yay for neon ribbon. And, I know this isn't clothing, but just because, here is a barbie guitar necklace, barbie boombox necklace and a clay confused robots necklace (I HEART Confused Robots).
