2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Am I going to be in over my head? on: August 23, 2009 09:28:40 AM
Hello to all! I am getting a learn to knit kit today and I wanted to start with a hat that I found.

Do you think it will be to hard for a beginner? I am an avid crochet freak, and wanted to try some knits. Thanks.
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crazy cute clapochet (6 Pics) on: August 06, 2009 08:26:48 AM
I have been wanting to make this clapochet for a long time, I was totally intimidated at first then I could not find the right yarn. So I bought some Universal Yarn Poems for a purse, started the purse hated it and let it sit in the closet then I thought I could use for this pattern. 5 1/2 skiens later I was done! Great pattern, looks complicated but really isn't.

4  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Went a little crazy! (very pic intense) on: June 11, 2009 06:26:46 PM
Okay so, I have been crocheting purses for too long and I was getting really bored. Since I feel I have mastered the back and forth thing, I went for Amigurumi. I tried it once a couple of months ago and failed miserably. So I tried again...

My daughter and her new Rainbow Kitty

Close up of face

Then I tried an octopus, her name is Mimi, she is the skipper for my truck Lol.

Then I went crazy (and I think this is the last one I make) with the tiny turtle, too tiny for my hands. But he turned out cute and my five year old loved him!

Then a zombiebot for my 8 year old son

Then a Bopbot for me!

I crocheted with wire and yarn for the band that goes between the headphones, so that it held it's shape.

Comments and Critique welcome, same with questions! Thanks for looking!

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / HELP! Missing page on: April 19, 2009 09:05:13 AM
My lovely toddler got a hold of my books, and destroyed a page out of my crochet book. It is Hooked Bags by Margaret Hubert and it is the first page(pg. 36) of the Bullion Stitch Backpack, can anyone help me out??? I really wanted to make it, but the page has been torn to pieces and partially eaten.......

If this is against the rules I am sorry.
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Peaches and Cream on: April 19, 2009 08:41:40 AM
I'm just wondering if I am doing this wrong, but anyways I have a bunch of Peaches and cream yarn for dishcloths and what not, and I am using a G hook, but it seems very hard to work with. The pads of my fingers hurt after about a half hour, and my fingers are always sore after working with this yarn. Other yarn I can go on for hours and not have a problem. Is the yarn or is it me?
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Flapper hat on: April 18, 2009 08:51:19 AM
I made this flapper hat from this great pattern found here : http://www.rheatheylia.com/index.php?page=patterns&id=10

I was making it for myself, but my daughter looks cuter in it than I do..... LOL

I used Merino Wool, I'm not crazy about the ribbon I think I need something else.

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Yarn Bee Idea? on: March 11, 2009 08:57:19 AM
Hello everyone!

This is my first post... so I am sorry if it is in the wrong section! Anyways, I was at hobby lobby this week and they had Yarn Bee Featherwisp yarn on clearance. I love it! It is the Aurora color, it is kinda like fun fur. I can't seem to find anything I would like to do with it... I have three of them. I tried a scarf but the yarn is too thin, is this something I would have to double up with a normal yarn? If anyone has an ideas I would be so grateful! Thank you.
