31  Wicked the musical swap? in New Swap Theme Ideas by sakuracat23 on: January 02, 2012 09:55:38 PM

Wicked the musical will be celebrateing its 10th year running in 2013 and i know this is probably jumping the gun (by a year) but i wondered if anyone had an interest in doing a swap with Wicked as the theme. im not sure if i could organize by myself but being a co-organizer or having a co-organizer i think i could handle.

32  Re: Harry Potter Ornaments Swap in The Swap Gallery by sakuracat23 on: December 19, 2011 08:39:23 PM
Alright everyone heres what i recieved!
First up a lovely little wreath with 2 books a gryffindor crest and tiny potions bottles on it

Then a brown furry thing leaped out of the box and started chewing on the wreath...Yikes!

After making friends with my "monster book of monsters" (whom i have named Frank and is now protecting my new earrings i got at a family function last night) he revealed more goodies!
A blue and gold bag with 3 mini glass bottles.i intend to make the smallest one onto a necklace. A "beginners guide to transfiguration" book ornament and a plaque with a brooomstick, hat and spell book on it. very cute!

Thank you Jeannettew32!

Hey everybody!
i happened to be looking through older photos tonight and found a unicorn i made for a little cousins birthday in 2010. i needed a mythical little friend really fast and i didn't like the patterns i was finding so i saw a chihuahua pattern in my crochet calender id got for Christmas. and i thought change colors and ears add a horn and TADA!
unicorn! shes nothing fancy but the birthday girl loved it so that's what matters

34  Twilight hoop in Needlework: Completed Projects by sakuracat23 on: November 14, 2011 10:47:27 PM
Hey everybody!
This is my first non crochet post. I made this for a swap the image is from the twilight graphic novel. The whole thing looks off center. but in the book the lines are slanted and i forgot that when i traced the qoute so it all looks off...but in the end i liked it really well. this was the first time id given away a hoop and the first time id finished the back of one...though i forgot to get a pic of the back. it was light gray felt with our user names stiched in black. oh and the pic came from padfoot  Grin
thanks for looking

35  Alice Cullen...in doll form in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by sakuracat23 on: November 13, 2011 06:19:22 PM
i made this doll for the Breathless waiting for breaking dawn swap and since my partner has received I'm putting this up. shes the "free spirit by Beth Ann Webber" (free pattern on raverly). the dress was inspired by the one Alice wears at Bella and Edwards wedding in Breaking Dawn part 1. Her hair was really hard to figure out but I'm happy with how it ended up. my only regret is i couldn't get any shoes i made to look right. so i left her barefoot. (maybe she went hunting after the reception lol).  and thank you padfoot for the nice pic... mine were horrid.

40  Alan...in crochet form in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by sakuracat23 on: December 23, 2010 07:15:23 PM
My family does a name draw each year for Christmas and this year i drew my cousin Alan. He ended up with a vegan cookbook 2 aluminum water bottles a t-shirt, puzzle and a crocheted likeness of himself...i got the idea because he and his wife do a lil knitting and they sell jewelry online and i thought he would appreciate something handmade.also he has some distinctive features that i thought would translate well. for the doll i used ogilvy amigurumi dolls pattern from raverly
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ogilvy-dolls  and added ears of my own design. the fun part about all of this was picking the beads for his piercings and the fact that my brother tossed him at the cat who then thought it was his.lol
Alan thought it was great and now he has a friend or two who want one of themselves...maybe after Christmas but right now i"ve been to busy to crochet or work on the knitting project i started..( Alan's dad drew my name and he had the idea to put together a basket with all the stuff needed to make the cmas stockings like the one his wife has made for each member of the family. and she doesn't just give out that pattern to everybody so that was awesome so I'm looking forward to exploring knitting again)
anyway enough of my prattling on... Grin heres a pic
