1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Personal/Private Swap Gallery, 2010 on: December 22, 2010 05:38:20 AM
I apologize to SharaStar for taking so long to post her wonderful swap package that she sent.  Preparing for the holidays has been eating up so much of my time!  I absolutely fell in love with the Ganesha amigurumi doll that Shara posted here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=360862.0 and she agreed to do a personal swap with me.  I sent her the yarn and squirrel from page 25.  This is the lovely package she sent me:

I felt very spoiled as soon as I opened the package:

Ganesha with the breathtaking sari fabric she sent me:

Other goodies included henna tubes, gorgeous green bracelets and gems:

Thank you so much Shara!  It was such a delight to receive the package, and I cherish the Ganesha doll.

Amazing!  It turned out so beautiful.  Did it have all the crystals originally or did you add some?  I can't believe the transformation.  I hope you share pics of the finished room.

First off, I have been so impressed with the amazing books everyone has been making.

I was floored by the lovely package I received from Linsey (hgddm).  So much thought and talent went into it.  I felt truly spoiled by all the extras as well.

I must say that my photos do not do it justice.  I wish I could take some better ones in sunlight, but I am leaving on a roadtrip to Northern CA in a few minutes and there's just not time.  Undecided If you have some better ones, Linsey, feel free to post them or I will post when I get back.  I wanted to share what you made before I left though.

She sent this beautiful leather notebook with blank pages

Closeup of the pressed rose petals on the cover (love the color!)

The inside

I'm going to be carrying this book around with me on my trip for sure.  It's the perfect size for travel journaling on the go.

She also made an even tinier book with a V on the cover for my first name

Some of the pages (this one also has room to fill with whimsy!)

She also made me this gorgeous ring:

And this card couldn't be more perfect:

Thank you so much Linsey!  The books you made are so lovely and perfect, and I adore the ring and extra petals you sent for me to craft with.  You are also an amazing artist and it was such a pleasure being partnered with you.
5  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: One Tiny Book Swap (CLOSED: Mail by 10/05/10) on: October 04, 2010 05:35:33 AM
I'm so glad for the extension!  I was able to do much more in my partner's book than I would have been able to otherwise.  I am 95% finished, and then just need to get the package ready tonight and then it's off to its new home on Tuesday.  Smiley

I received my final PostSecret the other day.  I would have posted sooner, but I was having camera issues.

"I want to travel everywhere!!"

I can't tell you how much I love him!  I have a Ganesha statue at my desk, but he's not anywhere near as cute as this one.  I wish I could crochet.  Wisted!

Both posted books are so lovely!  I especially love the colors of the Autumn one.  I am excited to see what everyone else comes up with.
9  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Cake-in-cup is not cupcake ;) recipe with photos on: September 27, 2010 12:54:48 PM
I've made cake in a mug a few times before, and I always use rice milk and it turns out great.  I also like to do a non-chocolate version with honey and vanilla instead of cocoa.  Oh, and if you spray your mug with non-stick spray before you put the other ingredients in, it will be easier to clean when you're done.  Thanks for sharing this!
10  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: One Tiny Book Swap (CLOSED: Mail by 9/30/10) on: September 24, 2010 05:08:19 AM
I bought a couple of things for my partner's book the other day, but I am still slowly working on it.  I'm have a yard sale this weekend, so I am really busy, but I should have a few hours of uninterrupted craft time on Sunday and Monday and will likely finish then.
