3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Irish Wolfhound Portrait for Denis Leary on: December 10, 2010 07:27:02 AM
So beautiful.  It took me a while to click on it because I thought it was a picture for a dog related swap. Cheesy  Our pets are so close to us.  My inlaws just put to sleep their Corgi of 13 years, and my friend's dog won't likely make it another year.  My dear doggie is getting older and slowing down.  While it is a part of life, they are our dear friends and we miss them so much when they are no longer with us.  I am sure he greatly appreciated the effort and the beautiful outcome more than you know.

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: rainbow + rug = awesome! on: November 05, 2010 04:56:24 PM
Thanks!  The formula I have always used is:

1. start with a foundation chain or magic circle (my favorite!)
2. the next row is all double stitches in each stitch
3. the next row is a double stitch followed by a single stitch,
4. the next row is a double stitch followed by 2 single stitches,
5. the next row is a double stitch followed by 3 single stitches
6. you get the idea.

However at the larger sizes it can get a bit wonky.  I may try your formula next time I'm making something big.  On second thought, are we saying the same thing different ways?

10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Bunny finger Puppet on: November 05, 2010 04:37:27 PM
Hi all,
I made this for my dear friend who has a cute little bunny named Howard, who I have pet-sat on multiple occasions.  I thought she needed this, as a bunny lover, and as a pediatrician, where you often need to pull a quick distraction out of your pocket.  I give full credit for the project to the fabulous ladies at the purl bee, who always have the most wonderful projects, fabrics and yarns.  They put out this as a free pattern around Easter.

It is so easy to make, and totally adorable.
