Oh my my, there are really great PLs here. I love the splattered paint/ink backgrounds on the Doctor Who PL. The embroidered one is just waaaay past my skill level. Rosie's PL is fun to look at with the image completely split up and then the colors are so lovely- I really like the flower crown. And then that travel theme is such a great theme to run with. All of the vintage pictures make me nostalgic for traveling with my grandparents when I was younger. It's a shame the photo uploading had to act up RIGHT when the gallery opened up. What a shame. However, it looks like most people managed and I'm so glad, because it's all amazing. I'm also so happy my PLs were well received. Can't wait for next round!

Oh, and I had problems viewing Nooo's pictures of my PL I sent her, so I'll just share two of the pics I have, just in case other folks had the same issue. Btw, Nooo, I hope all your life dramas and mental health problems simmer down. I knooooooooooow the feeling all too well. Take it easy <3

Oh wow. I love hereintherain's PL! I like seeing what people come up with when given the same themes. I also had curiousfae as a partner and I think my PL and the one from hereintherain are going to look good side by side  Wink .

Then I'm loving those colors and textures from witchhippie's PL. A travel theme is a really nice aesthetic. It makes me want to make Pocket Letters for my own traveling adventures...but now I think I'm just describing scrapbooking.

Well, folks, I was really spoiled for this swap. Nooo was my other partner. Be ready to feast your eyes on a fabulous Pocket Letter.

Check out this beautiful, weirdness. I'm really pleased when I receive crafts from people that really get me. The warm, fun colors and collaged-style are all so well executed. Nooo and curiousfae both used foreign language text as background pieces in their PLs and I reaaaaally like that. As someone that has lived in Florida all her life and doesn't speak any other languages, I'm always in love with the text and stylings of other cultures. It's such a visual escape.

Here are some much needed close up shots. Her drawings are hilarious and wonderful. I want millions now. Also, the symmetry in the layout is very pleasing. Also, only I would catch this, but there's small things that worked their way in, that weren't apart of the main themes, like the bee on the middle card <3

This little guy is adorable. The line work is stunning and that orangey-yellow is my favorite.

And now to the goodies! SO MANY. I don't know where to begin commenting on all of these amazing trinkets. Look at that witchy bookmark and the washi tape and the bird card!!!!!

The craftsmanship of some of the pieces are really really well made. Like look at the wooden pendants. Her About Me ATC is so great and so funny. There really is just so much here and I'm so grateful for every last piece. I think blue, sparkly earrings are even missing from the pictures because I was already wearing them. I could endlessly list what I loved about this PL. What a superb partner! Thanks for the match-up curiousfae!

Now I just hope my PLs live up to the standard...everyone has set the bar so high!

Ok, so I think I get the honor of posting pictures in the gallery first and I think this is an awesome way to start off. I received my first ever Pocket Letter from curiousfae. These were my themes:
1. Whimsical Collages and Weird Illustrations
2. French and Vintage
3. Monsters and Creatures and Ghosts and Aliens
4. Bohemian and Mismatching Patterns
5. Pinterest Inspired (https://www.pinterest.com/susieapple/)

And I feel like she easily hit every single one. She completely captured my aesthetic. The entire letter feels like it was ripped out of a strange, French, vintage encyclopedia. Pictures can only do this beauty justice, so onwards.

The packaging alone was well done. I threw my PL to her hastily in a cheap bubble mailer and now I'm ashamed. I just want to make a note, my boyfriend really "ooh and ahh"ed through the entire unpacking. I only mention it, because he's a harsh critique. He said the packing looked professional!  Grin

So, here's the wondrous, little thing. The colors are consistently pale, vintage shades. The illustrated faces are fantastic. I love them. There is so much to look at and every time I come back to them, I find more things tucked away.
FYI: I'm marking a couple images as mature, because there is tiny spot where you can see the f-word. It's hilarious and well placed and I don't think it should offend anybody, but just in case you are peering on with children or something, I thought it'd be nice to warn ya.
(BTW, curiousfae, your PL will also have the f-word on the front. Haha. We did not plan this, but we're apparently both fans of vulgarity!)

Here are some close-ups that really let you see the fun details. The collage work is great and again, look at those fun illustrated faces! I love the colored string embellishments and the odd quotes that leave you developing your own whimsical stories.

And lastly, we've got the goodies! I've got so many stickers and crafty odds and ends, I don't know what to do (except maybe sign up for another swap....) I love the paperclip-hand and the bee! I love all the french things and the flower stickers! All lovely things. And I learned so much about her in the letter, now I know we have in common. Sushi, coffee, ukuleles! Also, now I have some new podcasts I think I should check out!  Smiley Smiley Smiley

Curiousfae, this was just the greatest. Thank you for the PL and thank you for hosting! Making the two PLs for this swap stressed me out more than I thought it would, but I would definitely sign up again in a heartbeat. I'm a crafty masochist.

This is a test using photobucket. If the craftster photo-hosting doesn't get up and going soon, then I will have this as an option it looks like. Just uploaded this and then used the [ img ] brackets around the direct link...

I'll wait until tomorrow and see if we get any updates, but I am pleased to say, I received from Curiousfae and love-love-love my pocket letter. I also sent out both of my PLs, so Nooo and Curiousfae, expect your personal messages soon with tracking info!

Cute stuff in the gallery! I love the fishing bear and the camper. There's such a natural feeling about all the cards so far. I think everyone has summer and vacation on the mind. Then the snail mail and special beelivery cards are also so well done (I have bees as one of my themes...just sayin').

Now I've got a lovely card from witchhippie for Vintage Photos and Old Book Collages. The colors are so warm and its such a sweet little card. I love the bird atop the pile of books!

Because I added in the back of the card and the envelope, the actual art was a little too small to appreciate it, so here's another  Grin

I received a wonderful card from mandykaye. She eventually claimed me for my character theme, taking inspiration from my pinterest. And I just love the "curious girl". Check out these watercolor skills! I'm also including a picture of the back of the card and the envelope, because she even made the boring stuff pretty. This card is such a perfect example of when an ATC can be so simple, yet jog your mind with so many stories and ideas from just a character. I feel like I say it a lot, but ATCs like this always get me excited imagining a series. I wouldn't mind an ATC swap in the future that encourages multiple cards representing one theme in the same style. Could this be something achieved with pocket letters?

My last ATC of the month arrived. Rockingbearranch spoiled me with some extras. It was such a great way to wrap up this swap. The theme she claimed was French Words. I've never heard of the word "hurluberlu", but it is so fun to say, and apparently it means weirdo. I also read it can translate into English to mean cranky. Haha. I love it. The vintage, collage style of this card is darling. I really love the combination of the browns and teals. Again, thanks so much for a wonderful swap, rockingbearranch. I'm hooked again and I think I'll join up for April!

REPOST, because I had some problems posting the picture yesterday:

AND NOW, I've got to show off the card I received from curiousfae. She ended up going with my "Inspired by The Codex Seraphinianus" theme. (Google Images of The Codex Seraphinianus) The Codex is a book from the '80s, that's an illustrated encyclopedia of an imaginary world. I just stumbled upon pictures on Pinterest and became super intrigued. I don't own the book, because it's a pretty penny, but it's definitely on a list of things I might need to treat myself to someday. Curiousfae did such a bang-up job on this card. You'd think it was straight out of the book! It's so whimsical and creative. I started to think about what other creatures might swim in these waters. And then the strange text in the top left corner- great touch. I'm so happy to add this card to my collection.

Wow, there have been some gorgeous, very colorful ATCs.

mandykaye, the colors all just blend so well, in each of the ATCs that you did. The watercolored cat is especially inspiring.

emilywilde, your card reminds me of those fun, black pieces of cardstock, that if you draw on with a special marker, it reveals the rainbow of colors underneath. I'd love to see an entire Halloween collection in this style.

And then there's that crazy birdfeeder ATC! WideEyedLife, you take the prize for such a unique idea. I love the concept. Pepper!? So clever.

Now, onwards to my first ATC in over a year  Grin It is from cmarion3 for my Illustrated Lists theme. She gave me just the kind of card I was looking for. I think the actual hole punches in the card is such a cute touch. And then the playful watercolor and ink is so lovely. The style reminds me of Danny Gregory and I actually had him in mind when thinking of this theme. Then, I was also spoiled with a little extra. It's a textural tag/bookmark. I really love multi-media things with multiple colors and layers. I kinda kept petting this card...haha. Thank you so much!
