381  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: need easy meat w/veggie recipes for veggie-phobe on: December 22, 2004 08:37:15 AM
There are lots of veggies that you can add to dishes that you can hardly tell are there.  If he is really new to veggies he can always start with frozen and canned and work his way to fresh.  Peas and spinach and extra tomatoes are easy to add to pasta sauces.  Chili is another great recipe to hide veggies in.  It's nice and meaty and spicy, throw some onions, peppers, and corn in there.  Someone else recommended pizza--another great idea, zucchini/squash are easy to add to pizza and have a mild flavor.

Those two are adorable!  I saw their fronts, scrolled down and their backs are the cutest too!
383  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Candy cane shotglasses on: December 10, 2004 11:21:13 AM
I haven't tried this yet, but I've been following everyone's experience here and had a thought.
The original picture of the shot glasses from urban outfitters looks like the candy cane has been flattened.  The sides are nice and flat.  Maybe this is the missing step to get the shot glass the right size?
Once the candy canes are nice and bendable you could try flattening them with a rolling pin and then twisting them into the shot glass shape.  I think that would add to the height of the glass and allow more space inside.

That Bing Tree Topper is fabulous!  And it's such a simple, but genius, idea to attach him to a toilet paper tube.  Cheesy

That's great!  It would make a good present for boys.  When I first saw it, I thought maybe you used a Star Wars sheet set.  When my brother was little he had a whole room set, curtains and everything.  Might be something to think about it people can't the fabric.

That's a pretty cool idea, especially for people like me who don't knit (yet anyway).  I like the reindeer!
