12  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: First Rag Quilt on: October 10, 2017 01:48:53 PM
It is flannel so very cozy. I might see if any of my co-workers has someone to give it to.

So I found six started blocks for a rag quilt and have finally gotten around to using them. It turned into this cute baby quilt, but I have no one to gift it to so who knows what I will do with it  Smiley  I happened to have a bunch of baby flannel around and just cut some squares to finish it. It wasn't too long of a project too which was nice.
14  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Writing Magic - Nanowrimo 2017 on: July 14, 2017 06:40:09 PM
I love the idea. I just have no idea what I would even think to make for it.  Huh  I don't do paper crafts which is where my mind starts to go. Hmm I will have to think about it if this swap ends up happening.

This is really cute!! And you made the pattern up yourself is really cool! I don't know that I could ever do that.
16  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Little bit of Minnesota on: July 13, 2017 08:35:01 AM
So I have just moved to a different state for a year of service with Americorps. I was able to bring my sewing machine with me and decided to make my own version of a kit I had seen at a quilt show before moving. It was these kits for plaid Minnesota shaped plushes and I thought it was really cute but I didn't like the shops fabric combos that I was seeing. So after moving I was going through my fabric bucket trying to think of a project to do. And I found this funky red and green plaid. So I looked online and found an outline of Minnesota and printed that out so I could make my own plush Minnesota. It is a little wonky in some spots but it turned out pretty good so I am pleased with it.

17  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Is it Ok to buy $400 machine with zero experience in sewing? on: July 13, 2017 08:28:53 AM
If you are worried about never having used a machine before I would suggest finding someone you know that has a machine to show you how to use one (most machines end up being similar to use) or seeing if any local quilt/fabric shops have a beginner class with a machine you can use.

Thanks!! I had a lot of fun making it. And yeah I was looking at the Hoopla a-along and the idea popped into my head when I was looking and a day later I had this nice little 6in hoop made. Cheesy
