1  Little bit of Minnesota in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by skatergirl1007 on: July 13, 2017 08:35:01 AM
So I have just moved to a different state for a year of service with Americorps. I was able to bring my sewing machine with me and decided to make my own version of a kit I had seen at a quilt show before moving. It was these kits for plaid Minnesota shaped plushes and I thought it was really cute but I didn't like the shops fabric combos that I was seeing. So after moving I was going through my fabric bucket trying to think of a project to do. And I found this funky red and green plaid. So I looked online and found an outline of Minnesota and printed that out so I could make my own plush Minnesota. It is a little wonky in some spots but it turned out pretty good so I am pleased with it.

2  Fish and Chips in Needlework: Completed Projects by skatergirl1007 on: June 08, 2017 04:08:29 PM
So I saw in the Hoopla A Long's theme this month is celebrate and in the list of other things for the month of June is Aquarium month which means somehow my mind went to a fish swimming in weeds of fries or chips. The reason I went with this for the hoopla a long is also because fish is a special occasion meal. On my dad's side we do a summer fish fry and get to see family that we only see at the fish fry. It's also the dinner I will ask mom to make on my birthday since we don't eat fish that often (dad likes fishing but doesn't like to eat fish).

3  Wiccan Alter Cloth in Needlework: Completed Projects by skatergirl1007 on: May 23, 2017 09:25:33 AM
I have a friend that is wiccan and she had made herself an alter cloth and then gave it to a friend as a graduation present.
It was also some of her first embroidery so I was a little sad that she didn't keep it for herself, but I understand why she gave it away.
So I thought "hey I do embroidery and if I get the design from her I can make her one" and I made a cloth for her. I didn't have a dish towel so I used some white fabric, which was a kinda thin so I found some fabric in the stash to make it more of a quilt cloth. I haven't given it to her yet, but I think she will like it.

4  Pokemon Hat in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by skatergirl1007 on: May 19, 2017 01:50:09 PM
I had picked up a plain black baseball cap yesterday so I could add some pokemonness to it. And I ended up getting it done today! I did the style of one of the hats in pokemon go. It was just some appliques. I didn't do a great job on the applique but that's alright I don't really applique.

5  Bleached T-Shirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by skatergirl1007 on: May 19, 2017 12:27:11 PM
I'm going to a Con next week and I don't have the time or money to do a full on Cosplay so I decided to make some pokemon stuff. I made a Ditto that's in Toys, Dolls, and Playthings and a pokeball bag that's in Purses, Bags, Wallets. I think it turned out decently. I asked my brother what pokemon it was and he got it. If you don't know it's supposed to be a Snorlax. I think it turned out pretty well.

6  A Doughnut! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by skatergirl1007 on: May 19, 2017 12:03:28 PM
So I made my friend a doughnut! It was really fun to make. I basically just went for it and even though it turned out sort of square I'm quite happy with it. It took me two tries to get the frosting right. Only once for the doughnut part, but that's because I did the frosting first.

7  Pokeball Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by skatergirl1007 on: May 18, 2017 10:44:10 PM
So I am going to a Con in a week and I don't have the time or money to do a full-on cosplay, so I thought I would make up some pokemon things to have. I made a Ditto that has its own post in the toys, dolls, and playthings area on here. But he gets to sneak into this post as well.

This is my first circle bag and I decided that I know how to sew well enough that I don't need a pattern. So I looked up a pattern just to make sure I put it together correctly and winged it from there. I am actually quite happy with how it turned out considering I just went with it.

8  Cosplay Buddy!! My Ditto in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by skatergirl1007 on: May 17, 2017 10:28:37 PM
So I am going to a con at the end of the month and I decided to do a simple cosplay. So I chose a pokemon trainer. I want to have a pokemon to carry around with me so I looked up some patterns online and decided on making a Ditto. Because they are cute and super easy to make. I found some unused fleece in purple which was perfect. I used Sulky thread for the face.

10  First quilt I finished (mostly) by myself!! in Quilting: Completed Projects by skatergirl1007 on: July 27, 2016 02:08:59 PM
So I decided at the beginning of the summer after I got back from school to make my best friend a quilt. Since her and I are both 20/21 I knew I wanted to do something that would work for her to have when she has her own place. So I went with yellow, grey, and pink for the colors. I didn't do all of the quilting, because my dad's quilter doesn't like me (or I need to work on my quilting).
