1  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Hair Dying tip on: October 08, 2005 12:45:44 PM
I'm not sure if a lot of people already know this trick or not, but I thought I'd mention it anyways:
When dying your hair crazy colors, to get the color to last longer, soak it in vinegar before you rinse the dye out.
My friend and I did this back when we'd use Sharpies to color strands of our hair. The color lasted weeks longer than if we didn't use vinegar.
2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Altered book therapy on: July 21, 2005 01:01:18 PM
I bought a book a while ago to alter. Shortly after, my boyfriend of 2 years broke up with me and i moved out of the apartment we shared. While going through the devestating emotions of the break up, i started to work in the book I had bought. What I found as I started reading the book while altering was a story of love in the 1930's that was falling apart. I found rich words and text to help poor my emotions into the pages. It's been about four months now and my boyfriend and I are back together and I'm moving back in with him. Now looking through this book as I'm altering it, I see the transitions from sad lonely words to words of hope and not giving up. I find it amazing how stuff like that happens. My boyfriend and are happier with each other now and willing to work on our relationship more. This altered book is probably the best therapy I've gotten. Just thought I'd share my little story and hopefully give others a chance to share similar experiences while working on their altered art. Hopefully soon i can also get some of my book scanned and share the images on here:)
3  Florida / Florida: Central / Orlando SnB on: December 01, 2004 02:51:01 AM
So I noticed in SnB Nation there was no representation of FL in SnB profiles. Are we slackers or what? I know FL has some SnB groups! And so I did a search for an Orlando SnB group and failed to come up with anything promising. There is an attempt at one...but apparently the organizer is pretty lousy at actually showing up to these meetings and I'm a bit iffy about making a twenty minute drive to one of these meetings and having no one actually show up. All other knitting groups seem to either be just too far for my liking, or consist of a much older crowd.

There's gotta be some people towards the UCF and Valencia area who want to start an SnB? Anyone? Anyone a college student like me who'd rather save some gas money and try to put together an SnB somewhere close by?

We could make flyers and post 'em around this area?
