511  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Strawberry Frosting recipe? on: March 07, 2009 05:48:39 PM
are you sure this is strawberry frosting?  SAt first glance it made me think of maybe strawberry flavored white chocolate shaved into curls...IDK...maybe worth trying either way! MMMMMMMmmmmmmmm....

I love this idea.  I love swirls and curlie-cues anyways, so this is just awesome.  It almost looks unfinished though, like it needs something.  Maybe a sash or bow, or sash AND a bow at the part where the top meets the skirt?  IDK...it just is too darn cute, even without it.
513  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Daisy Cakes - with illustrated tutorial (img heavy) on: March 04, 2009 08:36:20 PM
I think these are adorable!!!  I am totally going to make these.  But instead of painting the marshmallow yellow, I am going to wet the surface LIGHTLY with plain water, and then press into yellow colored sugar.  This would be much less messy.  And I am also going to experiment with cutting petals out of more marshmallow b/c I hate fondant!  It tastes so bad!  Thanks for the idea!

Its so funny that you did AMy Winehouse.  Do you have a thing for drug addict-rockstar fairies???  I ask, because I just looked at your Chakra Fairy (with the balancing scales), and thought she looked like Courtney Love!!!  Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to be snarky, I think your work is AWESOME!!!!  I just couldn't get past the resemblance to Love.   Beautiful work, BTW!!
516  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Ahhh, the memories!! [[pic fat]] on: February 25, 2009 08:46:01 PM
I agree with another...those are adorable.  I think they're awesome for a 9-10 yr old!!!   I also agree you should hang them up, at least in your sewing room.  My 11 yo DD just bought herself a sewing machine with her Christmas money and I have been teaching her to sew.  I am def going to hang onto her early pieces for her!!!! How fun to look back at them!

I love how you chose green pants to go with it.  My first thought would have been red, but the green IS in there, and the pants really bring it out!  Good job!

Those are wicked cute!  I think I like the solid with applique' side better though.  They're too busy on side "A".  Love the polka dotted cord, too!!!!

Those are really awesome.  If you haven't figured it out yet, there's a trick to florist's tape.  You have to stretch it a little as you're working with it.  This "activates" the adhesive and it sticks better.  Again, those are beautiful, Good Luck!
