Wow- That is such a cute idea!

A good way to serve as "cash" for "prizes" at a Potter party, or even as a cute lil side gift... Smiley Me likey!

AHHHH!!!! These are absolutely precious!
I like how it's more of an "Elmo peeking over" rather than the whole face.
Great job!
134  COOKING / Dessert / Rainbow Cupcakes! on: March 01, 2009 06:18:37 PM
Hey, guys!
Rainbows are pretty. And cupcakes are delicious.
So let's make something pretty delicious.

And here it is: The Rainbow cupcake!

It's actually REALLY easy to make. All you need is white cak mix, food coloring, 6 bowls and spoons, and the proper baking tools needed for making cupcakes. Follow the cake recipie on the box. Divide the batter into 6 parts, and make each portion of the batter a different color. Add a spoonful of each color into the baking tray, and remember not to mix the colors!!! Just let them settle on top of each other. Bake as the box directs and then when they're done, let them cool.

The colors wont really mix (I did get green bubbles coming through the red, but it didn't affect the inside of the cupcake overall).
Decorate them how you want to and enjoy!!!

They don't have to be just rainbows either. Make them zebra by dyeing half the batter black, or make tiger cupcakes by making the cake mix half black and half orange. The color options are endless!

And just because they look so rainbowtastic on the inside...
the cupcake tastes 39469071409670956742340 times better!

Enjoy!!!  Grin

note: I took the pics pre-decorated! So no worries, there was icing on them, but to show you guys, I kept them icingless!

Thanks!  Grin
I'll try and see if I have any photos... If not, I'll just have to find them and snap a photo or two, haha.

I made one of these for by best friend, and she LOVES it. I showed it to her on skype, and she was so fascinated with it! It's great to just hold and flip from pic to pic while hanging out or whatever, and it does not get boring, hahahaha. I know, I do it all the time  Grin

Some of these ideas are pretty sweet-tastic! I think the thimble thing is precious!
My boyfriend and I are coming up on the "Big Two" and some of these posts have given me a few ideas...

If you need any (I havent read ALL the pages) here are some I did. I'm kinda new to the crafting thing... but they were successful!

- Chocolate-Covered oreos and homemade Reeses cups. Simple, yet AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS Smiley I had extra chocolate so I made a few for myself. I wish I made more!

- Decorated Christmas stocking filled with silly Christmas goodies (I think I had a rubber ducky that looked like a snowman in there) and some CDs.

- A collage based on a trip we went to. That way, you have the pics of the two of you, but it's not like a poster focused on JUST the two of you. I incorporated ticket stubs from the event as well as a poster. Everything else was framed around it, and it looked pretty nifty!

- A simple dvd/video of photos of the two of you to some rockin tunes. If you're long distance and have some tech skills, add a little snippit of you saying something at the end. It gives the vid an added kick. Add the bloopers, too--- just for kicks and giggles. Smiley

- Get him something intense... like tickets to a show or concert. But present it in a way so he'll have to work for it, hahaha. I did a jigsaw puzzle. My boyfriend HATES puzzles, so it was funny to see his reaction go from total frustration over putting the pieces together to surprise and happiness after realizing what it was.

- The "50 reasons why I love you" scrapbook/card/list/whatever is always a success. Instead of 50, however, I decided to go with 365... I reccomend sticking to 50. Or less. Cause it took me about a month or so (and the coloring assistance of 7 other people) to put it all together. It was a major hit!

Hope these help if they haven't been mentioned before!
