2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Intarsia Question (Pretty In Punk Pattern) on: August 14, 2009 02:53:39 PM
Okay so I am trying to do the God Save The Queen hat and I know how to do intarsia in the middle of a piece but I've never cast on with separate balls right from the beginning.  I'm not sure how to keep the colors together as one piece.  For example the red stripe in the middle is practically a separate piece from any of the rest of the hat (no overlap of color), if I were to continue knitting it I think I would end up with a chunk of red unattached to the rest of the hat.  I'm beyond confused but I'm determined to do this hat. I checked all of my books but none of them have a hint for this particular type of graph.  Also the cast on I experimented with was just the basic loop cast on, should I use the long tail?  If anyone has any hints of advice that would be amazing.  I tried to search for help with this but nothing came up so even if you know of another thread that answers this... =]  Thank you so much in advance.

Just made one of these today.  I have to say though it is not nearly as cute as your mario themed one.  This is just adorable.  The eyes are so cute!

Yey! Finally done! It's been months =[
I'd say about 3 off and on and for such a small blanket.  I want to do another now though, I'm hooked.

Next to my camera case in the first and my dog is in the 2nd in the corner.  I used Cottentots and it was like the best decision ever, it's so so soft.  Used about 5 skeins I'd say (I have a half left of the yellow and half of the green).

You can do the same thing with gel medium and i think it's easier to peel off.  I may be lying though >>  Looks awesome I love it =D

Omg.  It's like I was in your head of something haha, I like just decided I wanted to make an afghan in two colors of all different granny squares.  I just decided this maybe two days ago.  This is fantastic and looks so warm!
