11  can tab handbag (img heavy) in Get Product and Website Opinions by magick8ball on: July 08, 2005 09:17:55 PM
Hi! I recently completed this:

I have received an enormous amount of positive feedback, and I have completed two more similar bags. Each takes 450 tabs, and about 10-12 hours, including lining (not pictured, made of duct tape w/ credit card pockets, etc. One store I visited offered me $25, to be sold at $50. I've also heard that i could do better on the internet (ebay, etc.). Any thoughts?

BTW, I was inspired by the bracelet shown in the "featured projects" a few months back.

13  more armwarmers, hooray! in Knitting: Completed Projects by magick8ball on: February 01, 2005 01:23:16 PM
my first attempt at the armwarmer.

and my second, with a hat!

both are givaways, so sad. The pink set is for my bf's roommate who is a supermaket checker. with the doors always opening, she gets cold, but needs her fingers free to work the touchscreen computers. The hat was a birthday bonus, but I really wanted to keep it for myself.

14  brainsucker honeybear hat! in Knitting: Completed Projects by magick8ball on: February 01, 2005 01:13:59 PM
I finally finished my boyfriend's christmas present!!!
He wanted a hat with earflaps, and he said I could do whatever else I wanted to it. After seeing leethal's dead monster hat and obsessively listening to Amnesiac, I had a plan for this radiohead-esque chapeau.
This is what he got:

Here is a close-up:

And one more, with the flaps tied (Ignore the sad-boy face. He's just mad because I made him stop running around the house growling long enough to take pictures. In retrospect, i wish I'd gotten the action shot!)

15  Stripey-fuzzy garter stitch scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by magick8ball on: November 30, 2004 09:26:53 PM
I started this yesterday at work (I'm a restaurant hostess) and finished this afternoon. Super easy, but I like it. I worked the 1st stitch of every 2nd row with both colors, carried them up the side, and knit until I ran out of yarn. I used Frenzy (Bernat?) in blue and "pulsating pink", which looks more white than pink in real life. The fair haired beauty is Sparkle, who greatly enjoyed the photo session, especially the cord dangling from the camera. That is why there is no closeup.
