11  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: What the Hell am I Going to do With All This Recycled Silk Yarn? on: March 13, 2006 11:29:48 AM
Yeh...I bought some on Ebay too and it was pretty scratchy, dusty, dirty, and I knew I wouldn't want to wear it next to my skin. I used it for the Unbiased bag from Knitty, another simple purse, and a belt. They were gifts, and all well-received. Of course if you really don't like it, maybe you should sell or swap it instead of putting energy into knitting with it. I say life is too short to knit with yarn you don't like.

Good luck!

those look great! Where did you get the pattern? What type of yarn is it?

That looks great! A crossover sweater is a good bet for when you're pregnant Smiley

I love it! Especially the colorway you picked out! I was putting this off because I couldn't decide on a color, and it's so hard to tell with Silk Garden. But I love yours, so I am completely copying you, right down to ordering a bag of yarn from the same place! I think it will be a birthday gift for my mom...it's much easier than I expected.

Thanks for sharing all the info on this project. Smiley
16  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: panta! (from a finnish pattern). on: February 06, 2006 08:24:18 AM
I finished a panta! What a fun, easy pattern. It will be perfect for gifts...but I'm keeping this one.

17  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: 2 Socks at once & Magic Loop Method on: February 02, 2006 02:03:39 PM
I just found this website that shows how to do it...I've never done it but it says 16-24 in needles.

Good luck!

I love it! But did you really lay it down in the snow?
19  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Projects from "Last Minute Knitted Gifts" on: January 31, 2006 07:51:07 AM
Thanks! It took ten skeins of each color for the small size. I was worried I would run out but I ended up with about 1/3 of a skein of each color left over.

I'm not crazy about the color, because it will look kinda silly with jeans which is mostly what I wear (except to work, blech). I like the two-color look, and it also hides any errors well because you don't see the stitches as much. That yarn comes in nice colors...I wish I'd done black and purple.

Thanks knitty. I just finished it yesterday so I can't say how it wears yet, but it's comfy, cushy and very warm.

I think this is a good first sweater pattern, I had a few moments of confusion (when attaching the sleeves) but nothing a little searching on craftster couldn't solve Smiley

The hemming does, in fact, suck, as lotsa people have noted, but I think it's worthwhile for the extra weight that gives to the sleeves and bottom border. Around the neckline, I think a seed stitch border would be fine.
