I can attest to Sedrasmom's sling brilliance.  I'm the lucky craftster that benefitted from her generous offer to make me slings.  For now I'm practicing with stuffed animals, but am looking forward to trying them out for real in mid October...

This may be cheeky, but why don't you ask him to make you some to show you what he likes?
