1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing Holiday List Swap Discussion and Gallery Round 10 on: August 31, 2013 07:41:43 AM
I've been an INSANELY long term lurker, spotted this & decided to come out of the woodwork! I've always made a lot of my own Christmas presents but it'll be nice to be able to swap some stuff that's maybe a little outside of my skillset.

I have a glass kiln & do lampwork, so if anyone wants to put fused or lampworked glass items on their list I'd love to be able to claim some of that kind of stuff!

Beautiful - can only imagine the work that went into it!
3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Selling to tourists on beaches... on: January 27, 2011 12:23:49 PM
Hey there!

I'm not sure this is really the right section, but I wasn't sure where else it would go!

I'm a 19yo brit heading off to do some travelling in the states this May and whilst I've saved enough cash, it would be nice to be able to supplement myself out there. I'm planning on taking in a lot of beaches and was wondering about making hemp jewellery with sea glass and shells to sell there - I realise I wouldn't make a lot, but I was wondering if anyone could advise. Am I being really naive, is it legal, would I be moved on straight away...? I figured that it's a really easy, cheap craft, I can get the materials anywhere and people probably won't begrudge paying a dollar or two for a souvenier.

I'd really appreciate any insight at all, even if it's 'don't be silly!'
4  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Loads of fused & lampworked jewellery! on: January 27, 2011 03:13:19 AM
We've finally gotten the hang of our kiln and blowtorch, so I thought I'd show off a few of our bits and pieces here!

Lampworked bracelet -

Lampworked watch -

Fused pendant -

Fused coasters

I'd intended to show off more stuff actually, but I'm having some issues with uploading, so I just had to pinch images from our shop. Hopefully I'll be able to post some more recent pieces when I've sorted the uploading issue!

This is gorgeous & right up my mum's street, did you need much in the way of specialist equipment?
6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Alice in wonderland X-stitch on: March 03, 2010 12:43:18 PM
Just a quick cross-stitch I did for a friend's birthday - she's having an alice-in-wonderland themed party. Hoping to find a nice kitschy frame to put it in...

Those are fab! Could you point me in the direction of any good tutes, to start making chain maille? Thanks!

Just spied this on Gumtree, I dearly wish I could take them up on the offer, but am in the frozen north until Saturday!
