I claim rscowtown for scrappy placemats

Claims: 1

Hi!  I'm Leigh-Ann - I'm a single mom to Levi, who is 7 and a homeschooler.  I work as a nanny and teach RE classes at a UU "church".    I'm trying to reduce the amount of "stuff" in our lives so I'd love things that are functional.
I am very allergic to smoke, and Levi has some food allergies.   We are also both vegetarian, so no leather/feathers/steak etc please.

Things I like:   Bright colors, rainbow colors, citrus colors (yellow, orange, lime green), grey combined with a brighter color (i.e. turquoise), stripes, solids, dots, chevron.  Modern, clean lines Happy colors.  Beach/ocean inspired stuff, nature inspired stuff.  Functional items.

Things Levi likes:  Purple, pink, turquoise.  Anything neon.   Playing outside, being active.  Swim team, gymnastics, playing his violin.  Surfing.  The beach.  Dirt.

Things we don't like:  smoke, leather/feathers, lace, fru fru things, flowery things.  Vintage or "shabby chic" stuff, patriotic stuff, camo colors/print. itchy things.  things that a purely decorative (unless its something on my pintrest).

This is my pintrest: http://www.pinterest.com/leighi123/
There is a TON of stuff on there - I'd like any of it, or things inspired by stuff on there (i.e. you can see from the quilt section the colors I love!).    Anything on there is fair game (the embroidery designs with a heading are all ones I have, but there is one page of embroidery designs I don't have but want)

Crafted things:

small goodies to put into pockets of a christmas advent calendar.  Can be anything a 7yr old might like.   I need a bunch of these and always have a hard time finding stuff!

Anything fused glass in rainbow, ocean or citrus colors - wind chime, sun catcher, small dish, etc.    Ocean theme, or rainbow, or sun, or just something totally random.    (bowl, dish, suncatcher, wind chime, etc)

Rainbow quilt, throw size or bigger - lots of ideas on my pintrest here: http://www.pinterest.com/leighi123/quilts-blankets-other-quilted-stuff/

handmade natural lip balm/chapstick (prefer no artificial ingredients, essential oils are fine!)

Book bag like this: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/45950858668346696/   But BIG with long-ish, strong straps.   Does not need library card holder, but a outside zip/snap/velcro pocket for my wallet would be nice, and a d-ring or something to clip my keys on.   We get lots of library books!

Resin: Hairy spoon rest or coaster, for my sister.  I will send dog hair!  (I know, this is totally gross): http://www.pinterest.com/pin/37154765646501877/

Fingerless gloves for my 7yr old (I can measure whatever is needed) - fun, bright colors (purple and turquoise and anything neon are his favorites) http://www.pinterest.com/pin/45950858667834850/

Any wall art or home dec stuff from this board, or similar type stuff: http://www.pinterest.com/leighi123/decor-home-items-i-want/

Set of un-paper towels (palm tree, beach, sorta colors)

Set of cloth wipes (bright colors)

Knit or crochet coat for my 7yr old, in bright, fun colors (purple, turquoise, lime etc).   Like this: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/206954545352048953/   Or this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/184018675/set-of-3-pdf-crochet-pattern-hooded?ref=sr_gallery_13&ga_search_query=kids+crochet+coat+pattern&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery

Adults would do the majority of the crafting, for a kid.   Kid would make 1 small.

I have planned what I'm making, I have to pick up a couple things before I can start though, my sister had me make something for her and it used up some of my supplies, she is supposed to replace but hasn't yet!

What is the easiest/best way to bind a fabric book?   I'm planning on making a "busy book" for a 3yr old with fabric, but I'm not sure how to best assemble.

My almost 7yr old wears a size 98 or 104, sometimes with some length added.   He wears a 4T in store clothes.
20  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 99 ENTRIES / Tiny Tooth Fairy Note on: June 07, 2014 09:49:34 PM
My almost 7yr old lost his first tooth!  So for my tiny thing I made a teeny tiny tooth fairy note.   Its just made from regular paper and tiny "tooth fairy handwriting".   The envelope I decorated with red and blue like the old air mail envelopes used to be (at least from what I remember).   I put a little glitter in there as well!     He loved getting the tiny note and was so careful opening it to read.

In case you can't read it, it says " Dear Levi,  Congratulations on loosing your first tooth!  Remember to brush at least twice a day.  Love, The Tooth Fairy"

I also made the pillowcase with pocket to put them in.
