2  Toothless crossbody purse in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Eclecticlyfe on: December 29, 2012 03:41:11 PM

This was our daughter's BIG Christmas gift this year. Big meaning most labor intensive. She is currently obsessed with How to Train your Dragon. I made the straps really long so she can wear it cross body. The whole thing is lined with some reptile like fabric -spandex in nature to stretch with the knitting. The project was done on round looms. Threw the little fish in for fun Wink

4  Take That E-bay ! Madeline doll case img heavy in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Eclecticlyfe on: May 28, 2012 05:45:43 AM
We were acquiring some of the Madeline dolls through ebay purchase for our daughters birthday when we reached our budget quickly. I so wanted to add the doll case to the gift. I finally decided that it looked like something I could make my-self- since they were getting SO pricey at auction. So after much hiding in a very small closet, working in the wee hours of the night/morning, burning myself with the hot glue and tasting modge- podge on my fingers constantly-here is what we have. Two shoe boxes attached to one another with a duct-tape hinge (did i just make that up?) decoupaged all over and edges sealed off with hot glue and grosgrain. Our other daughters knitted blankets for the dolls and made a stuffed Genevieve with accessories. After all Madeline is nothing without her Canine !

The above is Ms. Clavel in her bedroom Wink

Made ties so that the dolls don't shift on the way to gra'mas house and a little draw-string bag for all of the accessories that need to taken along. The girl's use the inside as Madeline and her friends bedroom, and the back is set up as Ms. Clavel's room.
SO TAKE THAT EBAY ! I did it my own @%$# SELF  Grin

7  sweet bay rose packaging in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by Eclecticlyfe on: June 23, 2010 08:04:55 AM

Finally made a batch now that morning sickness phase has passed- this one smells SOOO good- it's sweet bay rose by wholesalesuppliers- and I've been working on packaging and labeling for a while- I like this for now but it just doesn't work for all the soaps ya' know... labeling is a real pain when your printer is possessed by a wicked sense of humor. 9  Mulberry Christmas Wreath in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by Eclecticlyfe on: December 12, 2009 07:56:56 AM

Working on Color- the colors morphed from a Green swirl to this dark red/brown color- but then when I sliced the soap it was a muted green on the inside. Crazy- gotta get some new colors so I can control the outcome better.
This Green swirl photo shows what it looked like pre-oven processing:
This next one shows Post Oven processing:
Good thing it was a Christmas fragrance with the Green/Red outcome.

10  Swirling still needs work in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by Eclecticlyfe on: November 20, 2009 12:03:31 PM
Swirling technique needs work. I think I was afraid to stir it in the mold- I didn't want to blur or smear the colors too much- if that makes sense. Tips are welcome. Also - what do you think I should 'Name' the soap- It's made with a very floral scent- lavender rose E.O. combo. The oils are grocery store oils- Lard, Soybean, Coconut, Olive. Also, I'm just learning to play with colors- this is a Lake coloring (?)- I used blue - which promptly turned green when mixed with the yellowish soap base and then it was purple when I pulled it out of the oven the next morning- Huh I'm guessing the heat did it- maybe the dyes are more appropriate for M&P?
