41  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Pretty Peyote Ring on: September 24, 2004 06:02:40 AM
I was on a beading frenzy a few weeks ago and made this ring:

I made it using even count peyote stitch.  It was fairly easy to do ( but time consuming like peyote is!) .. because I didnt follow a pattern to create a design so that made it slightly easier.  Instead I chose teal green and blue seed beads and beaded them in a random pattern.  I kept beading until it fit around my finger & that's it!   Smiley

44  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / beaded ring on: February 25, 2004 08:58:44 AM
Beaded Ring

I used stretchy clear beading cord ( great for those swollen finger days) ~ and also makes the teensie knot to finish the ring virtual invisible.

I beading technique I used is the Ladder Stitch   Grin

50  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Fabric Painted Picture Frame on: October 19, 2003 08:46:09 AM
Fabric Painted Picture Frame

  • glass frame
  • fabric paint
  • any type paper!
  • oval template (optional)
  • glue or tape
Oh and any picture you want to display! doh!
1) Take apart frame and trace the frames dimensions for the background  ( which is the pinkish plaid in this case).  Cut out.

2) Choose picture and use whatever template to create an oval if you choose..

3) put the frame back together with the background paper and glue / tape on the picture in the middle

4) bust out your fabric paints and start painting! the dimensional paints work well and give lots of texture.

This stuff lasts! i made this when my daughter was about 3 years old -and she's almost 7 now!

I made this for my daughters room ( i got the idea from a Michaels craft-sheet  - you could use a funkier style or different painting border to match other parts of the house?)

Great Xmas idea ?
