1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Lace flower hair clips on: April 19, 2011 09:46:02 PM
I made these for the Crafty Detective Swap.

The lace was originally cream. When I dyed my test piece I let it sit for a little over an hour. However, when I rinsed it most of the dye came out. I chalk that up to the lace being old and a poly blend. So, when I dyed it again I let it sit for two days. The color came out much better than anticipated.

I used this tutorial http://alyashcreations.blogspot.com/2010/05/see-it-again-saturday-little-lace.html to put them together.

This was before I put the centers in which were rhinestone buttons I found by chance at Joann's.

And after I put the center in.
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Texas Needle Book on: April 17, 2011 09:54:20 PM
I made this for one of the Ongoing Wish Swaps. Probably one of the things I am most proud of so far as it is the first thing I made without a pattern. Of course once I was finished with it I knew there were things I could do better for next time, but none the less...

Felt piece work and everything with the exception of the pages was sewn by hand.

3  UNITED STATES / Nevada / CSN Fall Fun Fest on: August 26, 2010 02:48:51 PM
In case anyone is interested there are vendor booths available. Not sure of the pricing though.

October 29, 30 & 31, 2010
CSN West Charleston campus (Charleston between Jones & Torrey Pines).
Friday & Saturday 10a - 11p
Sunday 10a - 4p.

According to the post card (and the ads that will be running in the Review-Journal) there will be arts & crafts, concerts, entertainment, food, a kids zone, a carnival and a beer & wine garden.

This is all being put on by the CSN foundation to raise money for scholarships. They may be reached at [email protected] and 702-651-7301.

For those that do not live in town, CSN is the College of Southern Nevada a member of the Nevada System of Higher Education (the same system UNLV and UNR are in). It is a public institution and the third largest "community" college in the nation. It also happens to be my employer.  Cheesy
4  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Obligatory howdy & such on: August 23, 2010 01:38:09 PM
Well, I have been hanging around here and there for a while now. Finally decided to start doing something with my account.

The short of it: I am originally from Dallas, but moved to Vegas (yes, that Vegas) in 1997. Can't say it is my favorite place in the world, but you work with what you've got.

I suffer from crafter's ADHD. And I mean severely suffer. I have more half finished projects than most people I know combined. Hopefully, being active here will prod me into completing a lot of it. Of course, I see all the cool stuff you talented people post to the boards and that makes me go, "Oh! Shiny!" If ya know what I mean.

That being said, I am looking forward to "meeting" you guys!

Oh yeah, I'm not sure how to sign this thing. For the past 10+ years I have been known around the interwebs as Zombie or Zombs. CrackRabbit.... that's a long story and it involves a cat (not mine) named Napoleon, but called Rabbit. Exactly.
