761  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: WoW "Black Coffee" Mug on: February 24, 2009 10:27:38 AM
I put this on my to-do list. I love it! WoW and coffee are two of my favorite things. Mine will definitely have the Horde logo though!
May I ask for some details about the glass paint?

That mushroom looks fine to me. I'm a sucker for all things Mario. These are great!

I agree about the bow, I don't think it looks weird at all. I love this elephant though. It makes me wish I could embroider!

I love the dress and I think it looks great on you! The black band really adds something to it. Great job. I can't wait to see the gingham one.

This is fantastic. I've been trying to think of ideas to make my own shirts. I love this. Great job.

767  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Freezer Paper Stencil Tshirt text on: February 23, 2009 11:44:05 AM
I decided to make my husband a shirt for Valentine's Day using the freezer paper technique. I had never done it before, and now I can't wait to try it again. It was so easy! I did forget to put something between the layers of the shirt though, so some paint bled through to the back. I printed my words in giant letters onto copy paper, then traced them onto the freezer paper. I used to xacto knife to cut the words out, then I ironed the paper to the shirt. I used plain ole 97 cent acrylic paint. It bled a little around the edges, but I like the messy look. I also chose not to put the cutouts back in the letters like the o's and p's.

I also played around with some spray paint. I didn't iron the stencil on, just laid it overtop an old tank top. I like the way this one came out too.

I first saw this idea here: http://www.neitherhipnorfunky.com/?p=106
I'm definitely going to try a picture next!

769  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Handmade Valentine card out of old book pages on: February 23, 2009 11:15:24 AM
I made a hollow book for my sister for Christmas, so now I have 300 pages lying around that I refuse to throw away. I've been using them to make cards (and for packing material, in some cases). I made this card for my husband for Valentine's Day. I was inspired by this site: http://iloveyoumorethanblank.com/

Instead of writing in the hearts, I made a list of things I love him more than and put it inside the card.
The hearts are made out of magazines and two of them are envelopes from cards we received. They have our names on them, and I love the different handwriting.
