81  Purpley Inchies in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by malmow on: May 12, 2009 09:31:59 AM
I made some purple-themed inchies.

I really love the way the yellow shoe turned out.

I received two sets of inchies today!
These are from Chibilightangel:

I love the 2 cent stamp and the cucumber and the fish tail.
I like the stamp on the back, too.

And Beckashell's:

I had to laugh because I used quite a few candy boxes in inchie making lately.
I love the cross stitch, and the hand, and the little cartoon guy. And I love that I got two that say Color. It's neat to see when inchies are tied together with the same idea, and they're all so different.
Oh, and I love the card, Beckashell!
Thank you both very much.

83  Horse/Western Theme Inchies Display in Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions by malmow on: May 11, 2009 03:12:12 PM
I made these inchies:

for my mom with the intention of displaying them like this:
Only with plastic horses instead of elephants, and a red/brown theme.
I didn't have the money to get the shadowbox before Mother's Day, so I was just going to wait to give them to her. Then I remembered these little frames that I got that I thought were too small to hold anything. They fit four inchies perfectly.

Which idea do you like better? I'd still really like to do a shadowbox, but these frames seem so perfect.

I received from Nataluna today. I love the texture of these, and I love tie dye.

The little lady is my favorite.
Thank you, Nataluna. (Great packaging, btw.)

85  H is for Horse in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by malmow on: May 06, 2009 11:03:26 AM
I started this before Christmas for my mom. She always appreciates my painting attempts, and even has a mother's day card that I painted from years ago framed on her dresser. Her new house is western/horse/cowboy themed, with lots of red and brown. I never finished this in time for Christmas because, as with most of my paintings, it wasn't turning out how I wanted and I got discouraged and put it aside. I was determined to finish in time for Mother's Day, so I got it back out this week.

The definition of horse, cut from an old dictionary, is the text at the bottom. I'm pretty happy with the piece, but I'm wondering if it needs something else. More brown? More twine? Comments and suggestions welcome.

87  MY first inchies--picture heavy in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by malmow on: May 01, 2009 06:06:59 PM
I was moseying around looking for a swap that I thought would be easy enough for a noob like me when I stumbled upon the Inchies Swap. After looking at some pictures and reading some old boards I signed up, and our kitchen table hasn't been the same since.
Most of my inchies are collaged, but I did draw a couple with colored pencils. Not all of these pictured made it into the swap.

Close-ups of what was swapped:

Now, of course, it's safe to say that I'm addicted to inchies. My DH now asks, before throwing anything away, "Do you want this for inchies?" (He's admitted that he wouldn't mind trying his hand at them.) I'll definitely be joining all future inchie swaps.

I had two sets of nicely packaged inchies waiting for me in the mailbox today. Here are the ones from korok:

I have to apologize because my scanner doesn't seem to like 3d things. It is much too dark for me to attempt to take photos right now so this will have to do. I love the stitching on the yellow one and the fabric of the  brown and white one and as an English major I love the alliteration but I think my favorite is the colorful drawing. I hope I get to see the other three pieces of it. Thank you, Korok.
Here are Malaki100's inchies:

I love sushi so I love that one and the foam is really neat and I love the eyes on the robot and the coloring of the mad hatter one and the cutout on the Victorian one and those flowers are just gorgeous. I absolutely cannot pick a favorite. Thank you Malaki100!
Everyone's inchies are fabulous so far. I'm loving this gallery.

Here are my inchies from Rainbow_Storms.

The globe is my favorite, but I love the background on the nesting doll, and "journey" goes perfectly with the "don't stop believing" one that I made for myself. They're all great. Thank you!

I received from DanniQuee today!

The Fire Ant made me laugh and I love the texture on the mushroom and I love the sun charm and they are all too cool for me to pick a favorite.
