11  ATC #2: Her Majesty in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by malmow on: August 23, 2010 07:27:24 PM

This beauty won't scan quite right. The pink of her crown is a little different. When I scanned it, the pink didn't show up at all, so I added the color with photo-editing software.
I received the lady in a 44 cent swap...with panthermoon maybe? I can't remember who sent her to me, but I finally got up the guts to use her. The background is stamped, and the words are my handwriting. I'm proud of this one!

I finally received my awesome inchies from Beckashell! I LOVE the pin-up inchies!

I can't wait to get all these framed up. I think I'm going to have a wall of framed inchies in my computer/craft room.
Thanks so much to everyone who swapped with me.

13  Re: Ongoing Altered Journal-a-long in Craftalongs by malmow on: July 10, 2010 10:57:49 AM
I have been working on my journal but haven't finished a spread for awhile. Here's my birthday spread...I had a hard time finding images for some of the things I wanted to represent...I'd still like to add a guitar or drum set in there to symbolize the playing of Rock Band.
Mr. Malmow laughed at me for saving the expiration date off the chip bag...I had to explain to him that seeing your birthday in print is almost like having your name in the newspaper...it's just plain neat!

Most of the elements are pretty self explanatory. The lyric at the top of the page relates not only because I had fun listening to and singing that song, but I got a camera for my birthday! The chairs are because things got a little rowdy and we ended up smashing an already broken chair in my yard...just for fun! This is definitely one of my favorite spreads ever!
Here is one that was a long time in the making.
I did the sketches in marker first...sometime in March, I would guess. Wink I hated the page but Mr. Malmow commented that he liked it, so I decided to play around with some watercolors and now I love it!
I had fun making the checkerboard on the other side using crayons...I didn't want to cover up the squares too much though so I'm just gluing random little neat things I find that fit.
This is my most recent mostly completed page. Since the last few pages I posted in this thread were a hodge-podgey mess, I decided I needed a theme. I didn't want anything too specific though...themes often intimidate rather than inspire me. Bet you can't guess what I picked!

I'm really learning a lot about myself via journaling. It's fun, it's kinda stressful, and it's teaching me what I like, what I don't like, what motivates me, and what scares me. I can look through and see my styles changing, even without dates or the pages in chronological order.
I will be dating more of my work though...I got a library stamp from the 1970s from etsy recently!

14  Re: $4.95 Swap AKA Fill a SMALL Flat Rate Box R2 Goodie Gallery in The Swap Gallery by malmow on: July 09, 2010 10:46:03 AM
We still have packages in transit which really shouldn't be happening for priority boxes. Please check the front page, if you don't have feedback take initiative and contact your partner and ask if they've recvd the box yet. This swap has been kind of ridiculous for communication, I went through all the DCNs earlier this week to update status. Organizers should not have to do that. Please find out if your packages have been delivered and contact TSM and myself ASAP.
I'm sorry if I've made this swap harder than it had to be. This is my first swap that required a DCN, and I've been busy entertaining guests and working.
That said, I thought I'd posted pictures of what TerraBella01 sent me. I didn't!
I got bingo cards, ( I love bingo cards) some GORGEOUS fabric, an awesome Muppets envelope, some play money, flowers, lots of brightly colored paper, and a bunch of other really neat odds and ends.

Thank you SO MUCH, TerraBella01!

These are my inchies from efirechild:

The coffee rubbed off on the pencil drawing of the elephant eye, which made me really sad. That was one of my favorites. I love the Paris one done in pencil, too, and the Italian flag.
From DaisyTattoo:

She said she had a hard time with these, but I really like the top left and top right ones, the map of Italy and the elephant eye.
I got this gorgeous envelope from Librarylover:

With some gorgeous inchies inside!

I love the top right, and the bottom two on the left!
I've already framed most of the Italy inchies!

I can't decide how I feel about that busy background paper. I might have to switch it out to something that's a solid color.

I've got lots of coffee themed ones that need to end up in my kitchen somehow.
Thanks so much for all the gorgeous artwork ladies!

I received a visit from Claude Monet as well! These are my inchies from titaniumship:

The elephants are ADORABLE and I love the little coffee cups and the Vespa and the neat baguettes. Thanks so much! They're so neat I can't possibly pick a favorite.

I've gotten some amazing inchies so far!
These are from xandcraft:

I love all of these! It's neat to see some places I've visited. I've already started framing some of these and hanging them up!
From envirocraft:

I love the Parisian ones out of this group, especially the Eiffel Tower.
I think the coffee ones will all be framed together for the kitchen. I can't wait!
Thanks so much ladies.

All of Blupaisan's inchies look great so far, but I love mine the most! She really went far beyond my expectations with these. I love the Italy and Paris ones especially.

Look at the detail on these! Amazing.

Thanks so much, Blupaisan!
