21  A couple more watch sculptures! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by IckyDog on: March 09, 2009 06:13:51 AM
I'm glad people seem to enjoy my watch sculptures! Heres a couple more for your enjoyment! I haven't had much time to sculpt in the past 3 weeks . . . . sigh.

A watch cat. Was done as a commision, then never heard back from the lady. Sad
And he's soooo cute with his ball of yarn!

            A crazy robot!
My mom has this guy. She has a thing for the song "domo arigato, Mr. Roboto"!

Thanks for looking, and for any comments, advice, etc!!!

22  First time posting in this section - some watch sculptures in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by IckyDog on: February 20, 2009 06:57:26 AM
Hi all! This is my first time posting in this section, and I hope it's the right one for sculptures (if not - sorry). Anyway, I make sculptures out of watches. Mostly old pocket watches, but wrist watches as well. My Grandpa got me hooked (he made trains and castles). Well, I have no talent for trains and castles, but I can do wildlife. I start by completely dismanteling the watch - down to the gears, screws, sprockets, etc. Then I let my imagination run wild. That, patience, and some epoxy . . . .and this is what you get!

Hummingbird and flower

Little goblin dude

I typically mount them in a shadow box for display. They're not terribly big, anywhere from 1 - 4 inches (hey, watch parts are small!).

Let me know what you think!!!
