1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / 5th anniversary present / Valentine's day present on: May 06, 2015 03:15:24 AM
Im sure a lot of couples will understand when I say that when youve been together for a long time, you run out of ideas for gifts. Especially for anniversaries.

When I hit this road block a couple of years ago when Rohit and I were celebrating five years of having known each other, I turned to my one trusted advisor: Pinterest!

After this inspirational streak, I went online, dished out the lyrics to our song Pehli Nazar Mein Race (Rohit is a Bollywood junkie and the song isnt half bad =P), and got straight to work.

You can see images on my blog (still can't post images here!): http://silv3rglee.com/diy/2015/03/23/5th-anniversary-present/#.VUnn-fmUeSo

Now, I made this for our 5th anniversary, but this can also be gifted on Valentine's day, or even as a wedding present. =)

Lemme know what you think.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Balcony makeover on: April 27, 2015 03:09:41 AM
In the past, Ive primarily done indoor crafts and DIY projects, like Pages on a wall, 5th anniversary present, Picture frame from recycled magazines and some other ones I havent gotten around to blogging yet.

The very first outdoor DIY project I did was giving my balcony a makeover.

Since I still haven't hit the 10 post mark, you can see the pictures on my blog post here: http://silv3rglee.com/diy/2015/04/23/balcony-makeover/#.VT4H_fmUeSo

3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Picture frame from recycled magazines on: April 14, 2015 01:14:03 AM
A few years ago, I made a photo frame from recycled magazine paper. Yep, the entire frame!

I wanted to share with you all how I did that.

Step 1 was to make a bunch of little add on thingamajigs to stick onto the base of the frame. The base itself was also made of recycled magazines!

Whilst it was made entirely of recycled paper, I ended up mixing and matching a number of things Ive come across and just jumbled them all together to create this. A bit o this and a bit o that and bam a masterpiece! =) Even if I say so myself. I want to add pictures on here to give you a glimpse of what it is...but I can't just yet. Still haven't hit the 10-post mark.

Once I do, I'll come back and add pictures. =)

In the meantime, you can see the tutorial here: http://silv3rglee.com/diy/2011/09/02/picture-frame-from-recycled-magazines/#.VSzJg_mUeSo
