2  woven basket stitch in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by jilybrat on: November 09, 2005 06:52:29 PM
i found this in "vogue dictionary of knitting stitches" and i'm in love with it. i want to knit a scarf for my sister using this.  normally i'm not so thick, but i can't wrap my head around how to do it.

the pattern reads (in case you can't read it)
multiple of 2
row 1: *with right hand needle behind 1st st, k 2nd st tbl, k 1st st; repeat from * to end of row
row 2: p1, *p 2nd st, p 1st st; repeat from * to last st, p1.

i'm getting stuck at what to do with the the 2nd st. do i slip it off after i k that st?  do i slip them off after i k the 1st? so confused, now the more i try to think about it the more confused i get. i'd appreciate any help, especially with pictures.

4  na na na na na na na na batman! in Halloween Costumes by jilybrat on: October 25, 2005 06:56:06 AM
My son Robin has been begging me (since he learned to speak) to make him a batman costume just like Adam West.

i sewed the black parts on the pants after i had the pants all finished, so it was a little tough to get that part on.  i couldn't find a decent picture of the adam west bat symbol (i was going to silk screen it on to the front) so i just cut up a pair of pyjamas and a shirt that he had and sewed it on the front.  The suit itself is made with grey fleece.  nice and toasty for trick or treating (halloween is cold in nova scotia).  i was going to go with grey spandex, but the stuff they had in the fabric store looked light green instead of grey. I think the fleece worked out better though.

Thanks for looking!

who doesn't, really?  my bf and i (more him, i picked out the shirt and encouraged him along the way tho!) made this wicked awesome shirt last nite/this morning using the freezer paper method, worked like a charm.

super isn't it?  tell him how great it looks, cause he's super proud.
