1  My new tote bag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by peacenluv78 on: March 02, 2010 04:20:02 PM
Made a new bag for myself! I plan to use it for the office! I think it transitions well to evening get-togethers as well.

The front features a sleeve (both sides), a heavy duty zipper running across the top of the bag, and 2 interior sleeve pockets to hold all my goodies. I made the interior pockets fairly wide and deep so i can easily drop small and large personal items in.

I also made 2 more using various other prints.

the bag i lined with heavyweight interfacing (i use the kind from pellon peltex), features a heavy duty plastic separating zipper on top, straps, plastic template base and metal hardware for front pockets. enjoy! Smiley

I just got around to making a new batch of overalls. I decided to get really quirky and chose really funky prints. I love how they came out! They are super zaney and fun and whimsical and cute and just tons of fun to look at!

overall in robert kaufman midnight snack, its got burgers and hot dogs and milkshakes and cupcakes! if i were a kid i would seriously salivate just wearing these

overall in r.k. sushi print! this one seriously makes me salivate. uni! the king of the sushi's! print even includes names of the sushi in english and japanese!

overall in red and blue peace sign print (i forget by who). very patriotic.

overall in pink and purple butterflies (i think by alexander henry). very girl and definitely tamer than the other prints.

4  The simple life tote in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by peacenluv78 on: February 25, 2010 05:40:46 PM
I wanted to create a simplified version of my everyday tote. lI replaced the front with a sleeve pocket running across the front of the bag. I also simplified the interior pockets, replacing the various slots and zipper pocket with sleeve pockets. other features, heavy duty zipper top enclosure, plastic template base, heavyweight interfacing was used for the bag body.

What better name for this bag then the SIMPLE LIFE TOTE. Smiley enjoy.

7  The ULTIMATE Diaper Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by peacenluv78 on: September 02, 2009 09:32:39 AM
I finally got around to putting the finishing touches on my friends diaper bag. Here it is finally complete!

Its a messenger style bag, meaning it has a flap that goes over the top of the bag and straps that goes from one side to the other. The straps are fully adjustable so you can shorten to carry as a side bag or lengthen to wear across your body.

The front features 2 large flap pockets. Great for stuffing diapers. There are also pen slots positioned on the outside of the bag making for easy access of pens. For the side, I used a fabric that I've never used before. Its vinyl on one side and fleece on the other. What does this mean to my friend? It means that that interior is waterproof! Great for holding baby bottles. The moisture won't leak into the fabric and can just be wiped clean off of the vinyl. My proudest new achievement!

The back has a zipper pocket that runs along the length of the bag. Great for holding papers, documents, cell phone, wallet, etc...

And finally onto the interior!

More insulated pockets! Great for holding more bottles and even wet diapers.

My favorite finishing touches on the bag. A key fob so you never have to fumble for keys again. And a change/money purse which detaches from the bag (if you need to walk with it over to the parking meter).

So tada! There you go. The ULTIMATE diaper bag in all its glory. (Not pictured...matching stroller straps!)

8  Man grocer bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by peacenluv78 on: August 24, 2009 05:43:06 PM
So a guy friend who is also a graphic artist did some work for me for free so i decided to make him a bag as a way to say thanks!

he wanted a man grocer bag. he didn't like the one's out in the market so i whipped up my own. its very similar to one's already out in the market but with a few alterations.

i made the straps shorter to give it a more manly feel. the long straps give it a handbag feel which i thought was too girly. i sewed an interior pouch which the bag can fold into. finally, the pouch has a strap with velcro which can be looped and velcroed on a belt, jean loop, wrist, etc.

9  Handmade mousepad AND wrist support / pad / cushion...it can be done! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by peacenluv78 on: April 02, 2009 12:39:33 PM
I've been stealing my bf's mousepad since his is ergonomic (provides wrist support) while mine does not...

Instead of buying new one, I decided to sew one instead!

For the mousepad:
Using my old mousepad as a guide, I cut out 2 pieces from heavyweight interfacing (the kind you use to make bags). You can fuse them together if they are fusible, or just sew a few lines through the 2 if they are not.

Next I cut a piece of fabric slightly larger, then used fusible tape to secure the fabric onto the 2 layers of interfacing. tada! done!

For the mousepad cushion:
I cut two pieces of fabric, 1 for the top, 1 for the bottom, 8.5 x 3.5

with right sides together, i sewed all around leaving a small 1" gap on one side

clipped corners, turned inside out...

now here's the fun part! i filled it with rice! you can fill yours as much as you like! i have small wrists so i only needed about a cup of rice.

finally top stitch all around and the opening.

check mine out in its natural environment!
