Oh its sooo good. I'm going to make it again this evening, and think I'm going to try out a drop of peppermint extract instead of vanilla.

Thanks! I wish I had known years ago how easy it was to just make everything sparkly and not to buy store costumes to make her happy!

Thanks for coming to look, I'm just excited I finally actually made costumes this year!
This was my first year making Halloween costumes, unless you count last year where I glued a unicorn horn on my belly and on a headband and went as a pregnant unicorn.
My daughter,Lily, has been OBSESSED with this movie called Frozen. It came to theaters right before my baby, Willow, was born this past winter and Lily was so excited to have a sister after asking for years that she pretty much decided this movie was about her life. SPOILER ALERT Thanks, I'd rather not sink on a boat.  Roll Eyes
I sewed the skirt and cape from scratch, I don't really know how to make clothes, so I was pretty excited about that! The shirt was pieced together and sewn onto a plain white shirt.

The hat was crocheted just using a regular beanie pattern and tying on long hair for the braid.
Now, baby Anna was super simple because she didn't really seem to care that it was Halloween.  Shocked Puff paint on a black shirt and a little blue tutu that she used just for a chew chew.
And surprise she didn't want to sit for a picture!

Here they are together kind of.. Wow, its hard to get two kids to cooperate at the same time.

And just to show I actually sewed it and didn't just tape it together, we are in a drought and it hasn't rained since last January. It started raining 30 minutes into trick or treat when we had walked a good 3/4 miles from the house. Not just rain, but monsoon type of stuff where we had to pour water out of our shoes, and the costume actually stayed together! I was really excited about that, even though someone else was not,  Grin

Elsa was loosely based off this tutorial, I'm too lazy to follow a tutorial all the way through  Kiss

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Hooded Scarf on: September 18, 2014 12:43:55 PM
So my friend is moving away in a few weeks back to the North where she will need warm gear! She loves fall colors and looks beautiful in them as well so I made her this hoodie/scarf for a going away gift for her. I found the pattern here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mother-hood

Im slowly coming out of my creative funk as the baby gets a little older and my homework is tapering off. Im going to try to start posting some stuff on Craftster again as I finish them up.  I always miss this place when I stay away too long.
