2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / I scored some LOTERIA FABRIC (alex henry) & I don't want to "Waste" it, HELP on: September 16, 2009 12:05:54 PM
I scored a piece of LOTERIA FABRIC (about 25" x 45", and some smaller scraps).  I know it is highly prized and I don't have a clue what I shoud do with it.  I hate for it to sit in my stash waitng for the right project to come along, it will grow old in there if I don't use it now.

I need your help finding the right use for it, but keep in mind my sewing skills are pretty basic.  I can sew a staight line and am fairly crafty otherwise.

Thanks in advance for your help.

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Arrrrrrr matey! Crochet Pirate Bearded Beanie! on: March 24, 2009 01:55:42 PM
awesome!!!! I wish I could crochet.  My son is a counselor at a boy's camp and they have pirate day.  He would be the HIT OF CAMP in this.  Any interest in doing a private swap for one?

My first thought was a backpack mini first aid kit but someone else suggested it.  Could be used for a id container/emergency contacts as part of a personal safety lesson, the info could be hidden from view.  Use the paint pens to right ICE on the container (in case of emergency).
5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: First journal! (super pic heavy!) on: March 14, 2009 03:05:02 PM
One of Martha Stewart's tv guest made a book this week.  get on-line to get the instructions if you need help.  You need to trim the corners before you fold up, creat a mitered corner.  I usa a PVA glue (aka book binding glue).  You will get great results.  Double sided tape isn't a good option since it's not completely flat and you will get odd wear patterns.  Does this make sense?

I had no idea that you  could cut on a band saw!  This would make it easy to "make" a picture!  My son was intrigued with them as well and went back over. He bought a huge box of 4x4 but not didn't have as many colors and bought some others that were some different shapes.  He teaches Indian Lore at a summer camp.  He might be able to use the ones that look like stone for projects there.  The crazy kid asked for and got a band saw for his 18th birthday.  Again,, thanks for all your suggestions!

lots of great ideas! I knew you could help me.  I paid $5 for them at Expo (the high end stores that Home Depot is closing).  I figured when I bought them something would come to mind.  I thought about drilling a hole in them to use as a pendant but they are a little heavy for that.  I too love to touch them...weird I know.  The first thing I did was sort them by color.  I think I'll go back as they had other brands avail but not as many as in this box.
Keep thinking for me!

I just got this box of 90 samples.  Esch one is 2" x 2".  The printing on them can be sanded off with no ill effects.  What in the world can I do with these?Huh I know you clever people can come up with a great idea.  Thanks.
