14  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Anniversary "Time Capsule" Idea/Help? on: February 15, 2009 06:38:06 PM
I want to do something special for my soon-to-be hubby for our future anniversaries, so I was thinking about making a time capsule, but instead of putting things in there once & opening it up in 5 or 10 years, I wanted to make it something that we revisit every year on our anniversary, put in new things.

I'm planning to create an envelope for each year - the first one will be marked "pre-wedding 2007-2009" (or something like that?), the second will be "1st anniversary, 2009-2010", third will be "2nd anniversary, 2010-2011" etc.  In each envelope I was going to put a few pictures of things that we did during the year, maybe some ticket stubs, and other things representing important events that happened each year.  I also want to have both of us write on index cards - and that was what I wanted help with.

I need ideas on what to have on the index cards - I was thinking about having an open ended sentance on each card like "The things we accomplished together this year are..." and then each year from now on complete that same sentance on new cards.  I want to have other ones like "The funniest thing that happened to us this year was...", "The sweetest thing you did for me this year was...", "The biggest impact on our lives this year was...", "This year, we traveled to..."

Any suggestions on more complete the sentance cards?  Or anything else that I could include in our anniversary box?

Thank you! Sarah

16  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Rose Ribbon Bouquet on: February 15, 2009 10:58:24 AM
I wanted to keep my bouquet, so I decided to do a full boquet of white & blue ribbon roses to match my dress.  It's taken me a few months (I'd make a rose or two at night watching tv, or a couple at work during lunch), but this is what I've come up with:

here is a close-up of the roses:

I hot glued all the roses to sticks and stuck them in a styrofoam ball that is on a bouquet holder.  I'm not completely finished with it yet (there are a few places that could use another rose or 2), and I still haven't figured out what I'm going to attach to the ball of flowers to be able to hold it through the ceremony.  I was thinking a dowel, and wrap it with more ribbon...

Oh!  And here is the tutorial for the roses that I used Smiley

I hope you all like it!  It's one of my first projects Smiley
