1  Alien Dude! in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by ciawabbit on: January 09, 2011 01:37:55 PM
I made this fella quite a few years ago while randomly playing around with clay, but he makes me smile every time I see him so I thought I'd share. For size reference, he's about as tall as my pinky finger.  Smiley
And please excuse his vague dustiness, I obviously disregarded cleaning him before his photoshoot!

The flash seems to bring out all the paint irregularities, he's much neater in person  Embarrassed

Peace out!  Grin

2  Voodoo Doll ;D in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by ciawabbit on: January 07, 2011 12:59:41 PM
Just wanted to share a doll I recently made for my friend's grandmother.  Smiley
The poor woman is apparently having trouble with a nasty neighbor who does everything from stealing her laundry to throwing things at the cats.
Whereas I think a restraining order would have been more appropriate, she asked my friend to have me sew up a voodoo doll she could use against her. She also sent a snippet of purple cloth I should use in the making, since it had belonged to the neighbor... no clues as to how she got it!!

Well, I certainly couldn't resist making a voodoo doll, and the image of a kindly white-haired grandmother poking huge needles in it and slamming it with a hammer just made it worse.  Grin

So here goes... for size reference, the whole thing standing up was no more than five or six inches and I totally made up the pattern as I went. It took about two hours to make since I'm not the world's fastest hand sewer!  Smiley

I used the purple cloth to applique a heart and make the soles of the feet, then just stuffed what was left inside the doll together with the batting. It was terrible stuff to sew with, it kept slipping free and unraveling!!  Angry
The eyes are tiny buttons I had, just waiting for this opportunity... I have yet to ask if it worked, but it sure was fun to make!

Ah! my big, lopsided heart! the pain!

Thanks for viewing, and please excuse the crappy webcam photos.  Smiley

3  Peanut madness![lots of img!] in Completed Projects by ciawabbit on: January 31, 2009 06:23:46 AM
In the beginning there was me and my brother eating peanuts... and suddenly, there was a penguin.
I made these out of funny-shaped peanut shells, cardboard and paints. Be kind pls... I don't craft a lot!!  Grin
   Enjoy!  :-*from Tuscany

The first of the peanut friends to appear..

My personal favorite, Mr Nut... He actually looks a lot like my physics lab professor. I had to build up his mustache a little with clay!

I didn't put as much work in him as he deserved, poor little ghost! but anyway.. he had a little metal wire underneath that keeps him hovering spookily...
