1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / PostSecret Swap Gallery on: September 17, 2007 08:29:44 AM

"I feel so alone."

"I can sit around and watch horses for hours & hours and not get bored. The barn is the one place where I am truly happy. I spend more time there than w/ my family."
and the sticker quote says "The wind of heaven is that which blows between a horse's ears"

"I wish life was a musical!"

the back "life would be so much more fun! - mystery swapper"

I cannot describe the feeling I had when I pulled my first secret out of my mailbox (my first piece of mail in that mailbox!). Thank you all for sharing your secrets with me.

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sharpies + Satin ? on: January 17, 2007 06:33:31 PM
Hmm thanks guys. Looks like I'm going to have to rethink my plan.

Would acrylic paint mixed with fabric medium work okay on satin, or is there a special kind of paint I should use? That's what I normally use for stencilling but on cotton t-shirts so I'm not sure if there is a better product out there. Sorry for all the questions but I want to do this right!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Sharpies + Satin ? on: January 16, 2007 08:42:49 PM
So I was thinking of buying a plain, white satin dress like this one for prom:

and making all my jewellery include sharpie minis and have people doodle and write all over me all night long.

Or I thought of getting this dress:

and drawing marilyn monroes a la Andy Warhol on the front chest panel, if that makes sense, using a Sharpie.

My question is- do Sharpies work on a "slippery" fabric like satin? I would want to keep the dress for a while after and want to the doodles to hold up. Thanks!
