cinnamon teal-- love those mugs, especially the shape of the front one. Beautiful!

I've completed a couple of things:
Pastel pom pom wreath (as seen on craftster by Strawberry Jelihttps://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=377786.0#axzz2PmwkBBEI)

Felt sanitizer holder for my purse

An inspiration board-- the frame looks black, but it is really dark purple

YAY! I just finished the first project on my list!

Knitted "fox" hood:

It was supposed to be a fox hood, but it looks a little more like a deer or some other woodland creature to me...Shown on Brownie, but it's more snug on my head.

Okay, Here's my package from lilusa!

AND a Little Batman (shown perching on my sofa)! This TOTALLY makes up for having to give away Little Captain America!

Thanks so much lilusa! Everything is great!

4  Re: Significant Other Swap - Round 6 in The Swap Gallery by gingerberrycc on: October 17, 2011 10:03:15 AM
My SO received last week, and he was absolutely thrilled with everything!

A zippered case for small drawing tools with a superman theme (he loves this, because he can pack it with pencils, inking pens, eraser and small french curve and bring it to my house for the weekend)

Superman messenger bag and pencil roll, AND...

These yummy peanutbutter cup cookies (he let me try one). Vaccum-packing was a great idea, because they did melt in the south Texas mail truck, but the packaging kept the cups in tact until I could cool them off.

great package! Thanks for everything!

I received from billiemarie last week. Here's the loot:

I got some yummy apple butter, a cute wreath (I think it might be my fav), a paperweight to "mabonize" my desk at work (it reminds me of an acorn), some candleholders, and some harvest recipes.

Sorry for the tardy post, somehow my brain "skipped" the swap gallery.

Sorry it's taken so long to post my pics! I received from ariaya last week!

I got a great wool knitted bag in varying shades of purple (love the texture!), woven drawstring bag with some stones, woven coasters (check out how well they match my couch!), and a great BoS page with a invocation to Arianrhod (it's a beautiful piece)!

I absolutely LOVE everything! Thanks, ariaya!

I received from Ariaya yesterday! Here's the awesome-ness that she sent me:

Three awesome decorated pages and a whole stack of "antiqued" pages. These are great and will fit right in with my BoS! A hand-carved pentacle stamp--I've tried to draw this on my pages before, but it's always wonky. A couple of ink pads and rub-on transfers. And that bean-bag looking thingy? That's to keep my book flat because I usually use cardstock for my pages, and they won't lay open! Genius!

Check out this great page with a chant from Scott Cunningham. Great caligraphy.

And a bag for my BoS. It fits perfectly as you can see. My friend and I have talked about getting together to work on our BoS, so this will be perfect for transport. There's even an interior pocket for supplies! Not to mention that start are kinda "my thing".

Thanks again ariaya. I feel spoiled!

I received from Cinnamoon yesterday! Here's my booty...I mean stuff...

Pirate baking cups, earrings, and a jar-o-dirt! I love it!
I absolutely love to bake when I have the time, especially themed goodies. Cinnamoon must have ESP...

or maybe not. I actually don't have pierced ears, but I didn't mention that in our PMs. But I have a clip-on base that I can add the dangles to, so no big problem. Swap and learn!

I think that the jar of dirt is my favorite. It's an I-Spy jar, so it came with a list of things to look for (like a drawing of a key, the plate for the pieces of eight, etc.)

A t-shirt with one of my fav quotes. It's ironic...becuase I don't drink. I think it's hilarious.

Thanks so much for the loot Cinnamoon! You made my first swap experience a great one!

9  Yes I Can Can Can in Costumes: Completed Projects by gingerberrycc on: May 13, 2011 09:57:41 AM
I made these can-can skirts for my sister's dance class. EIGHT of them. She commissioned me since there wasn't enough money in her studio's costume budget.

I started by making a full circle skirt. I tried to convince her to go a little less, but she wanted a full circle, so that's what I gave her. If I were doing the project again, I would probably use only 3/4 of a circle because when you grab it to can-can the middle slumps down due to too much volume.

I used an elastic waistband, since the girls were going to have to pull them off halfway through the dance (yes, they had leotards and a bustle underneath).

Then I started with the tulle. I cut it into 3 inch strips and just sewed it around the inside of the skirts...and around and around and around...

They came out pretty good. I wish the tulle would have showed up a little better. I did a double layer on the fronts and a single layer on the back to save tulle but still give the colors vibrancy in the front where it would be seen.

I can't wait for her to see them; she's picking them up on Saturday. Recital is next weekend!

10  Painted Plastic Sugar Skulls in Halloween Decor and Parties by gingerberrycc on: April 22, 2011 08:41:32 AM
These are some skulls I made last Halloween. I over-bought a bunch of plastic mini skulls and couldn't find any place to put them, or any way to make them look unique and special. A couple were painted for family members who have passed, but otherwise they're just designs I came up with and liked.

First, I painted the skulls white, since they had black shading and also looked a little greenish/GITD.

Then I went to town with my own brain! These were really fun to make and I ended up painting about 20 of them all together...It's hard to stop once you get going!
