Everything in the gallery is so great! Fascinating stuff from all the swappers.

habitat-lady, I love the poem. Very enjoyable.

Oh boy! I received the envelope from loves2experiment today, and she is a champion stalker. Everything is exactly to my taste. Squee!

First off, the envelope arrived in great shape with no postage due.

She made it from a recycled piece of paper that looks like HP printing instructions. And it fit the contents exactly, so I would say she folded it around them and then glued it together. Just guessing, of course.

And on to the delights I found inside. All together:

Closeups. These beautiful papers:

On on the reverse sides, more cool patterns:

More goodies:

There was a lovely big piece of watercolored paper. Did you paint this, loves2experiment? It's so pretty. And a real pressed leaf, which unfortunately was damaged in shipping. But it will still have a home here, don't worry. I love it!

And, some cute little leafy punched shapes. Green print on one side, cream print on the other.

AND, a fashionable tiny drawstring bag with a leafy design. It even has a gusset, so I had to turn it inside out to see how it was made:

She just turned up the bottom a little bit before sewing it. So easy. It's fun to learn new things in the Craftster classroom, eh?

But wait, there's more!

Textured paper with two friendly walking-away elephants. A piece of yummy blue textured paper. A quotation printed on vellum, "The way to be happy is to make others so." Three little embossed garden theme squares that I adore. And a paper cutout with more inspirational words.

Ahhhh. I feel so good. Relaxed and spoiled. Thank you so much, loves2experiment. It doesn't get any better than this.

That is so cool! I love it when things have a history.
274  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Fulled Sweater Craft Swap - Signups through Oct 9, Send by Nov 7 on: October 11, 2009 10:41:14 PM
Thanks for the tip about using pillowcases to felt sweaters.  Along with collecting the lint, does it help at all in the shrinking process?  A friend told me to throw some tennis balls into the washer, or large toy plastic blocks, to create more friction.

Not having any more luck with finding more sweaters.  I want to add more to my collection before doing a load.

Oops, I missed this question. I don't know that it helps the shrinking process. In fact, I haven't tried it myself but am going to tomorrow, cause I just scored four more wool sweaters at 29 cents each!

I'm so excited to have lydiaharper as my swap partner. What a nice person! It's her FIRST swap, and I plan to spoil her so she'll be excited to swap again.  Smiley Cheesy Grin

Yes, I'm still interested in joining this swap. I've been watching . . . waiting . . .

Thanks to those who have volunteered to organize it. And the original guidelines as discussed in this thread are good for me. I suggest allowing some wiggle room as far as the percentage of items that are crafted. (Personally, I'll be crafting almost all of them, but that's just me.)

Also thank you, craftybeachgirl, for telling everyone about your swap. It will be wonderful, and I'm glad there's room for a variety of swaps -- choices are good!

I sent both envelopes today -- to loves2experiment and derscroot. I weighed both on the balance scale at our little post office and they should pass. However, I'm a little worried about the thickness of the one for derscroot. I flattened it under a pile of books for a whole day, but who knows?

Didn't want to confront the nasty guy behind the counter, so I just took my chances.

I'm mailing packages for one swap tomorrow, which will leave only this swap and one other (for the time being!). Can't wait to find out who my partner is.

I was just thinking that December 19 will be like a mini Christmas.  Smiley Cheesy Smiley

I would love to do a swap where people craft from the items they receive in 44 cent swaps.

Genius idea! This sounds like fun.
