1  Re: Traveling Little Visitor Swap Round 29 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by zcrafter on: June 27, 2019 09:32:15 AM
Orenji and I had the great experience of visiting Philadelphia! We only had a few hours, but we did ride the metropolitan train system, and we had lunch at Reading Terminal Market. So much food everywhere! Orenji helped me to order a turkey sandwich:

After lunch, we took a cab to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Orenji was fascinated with the architecture:

He knew he couldn't take the stairs two at a time like in the Rocky movies, so instead he chose to sit on a step for a portrait:

Inside, there was art everywhere, but Orenji's favorite was this painting of sunflowers by Van Gogh:

He was thrilled to see an original Van Gogh, and of course, he loved the colors.

Gosh, the TLVs are having such great adventures! I'm glad Flobot got to see Endgame -- I haven't seen it yet, so maybe she can tell me about it when she returns home.

Orenji has finally been getting out of the house. The weather has been very WET, but we did manage to get out into the Pennsylvania Wilds.

Orenji helped by holding the leash while we took my dog Brooke for a walk to the local park.

There's a lot of green growth right now. Orenji thought maybe some of it looked different from what he sees back home.

And oh, how he loved the wildflowers.

It's great fun to have a TLV along for any adventure that comes our way.

I received a lovely piece of wall art from craftlittlemonkey!

The phrase "Be someone's umbrella today" is inspiring to me. This will be hung in my bedroom where I can see it as soon as I wake up each day.

It's beautiful. Thank you, clm!

My partner is not able to post pictures right now, so here are the pics I took of the items I sent to her. First, a 5 x 7 mixed media of "Today I shall create." I put it in a frame so she can hang it or stand it right away.

We agreed not to send extras, but while experimenting, I came up with this ATC and had to send it along. It says "A mistake is simply another way of doing things." I included an owl because she likes owls.

A-a-a-a-n-d, I actually made an ATC for myself. It's in a small frame in my living room now.

I enjoyed getting into the creative mode to do these. It's a wonderful swap!

Orenji has arrived in Pennsylvania! He came in this cozy little pouch for traveling around.

And in his cute backpack, a sketchpad and pencil! He will be writing and drawing in it while he's here.

He kept a brave outlook when he met Brooke, the resident terrier mix.

He's wearing a winter scarf because here in PA it's still a bit nippy!

Thank you for sending Orenji, WingsoftheWind. We'll make sure he has some new adventures.

YAY, I received a super-duper package today from TheSapphireMoon! I'm flying high!

First, all the goodies. My chosen colors were yellow and bright greens/blues. She spoiled me so much. Wall hanging, bookmark, embroidered butterfly patch, coloring book, colored pencils, treats for me and my dog Brooke, floss, buttons, and two fat quarters (one filled with ducks!).

Closeup of the embroidered and button-filled wall hanging -- a big, bright Z for the wall of Zs I'm going to design about my bed:

Brooke sampled the treats right away:

I am smiling a great big springtime smile. Thank you for EVERYTHING, TheSapphireMoon.

No need to worry, pioneer9, I just love the heart you made for me. It came in today's mail.

My dog Brooke is painted on the front (ADORE!), and my personal motto is on the back.

I love the way you used a combination of paint and collage (tissue paper?) and glossy stickers. Thank you so much, pioneer9.

I feel so spoiled. Here is all the goodness from kittykill: Books by Neil Gaiman and Anne Tyler, bookmarks, embroidery, Lindor chocolates (OMG), assorted teas, three small seasonal notepads, a pen, and a lip balm. I feel like kittykill has been hiding in my closet, LOL.

And a closeup of the embroidered wonders. I just love the flower bookmark with elastic! And she knew I love duckies, so she embroidered a handkerchief with a baby duckie in the rain. The line embroidery reminds me SO much of things my mum embroidered for us.

Thank you, kitttykill! I'm going to have a delightful Christmas eve. Let's hope the chocolate can last that long.

EDIT: Doggone, I apparently don't know how to rotate photos and post them correctly. I apologize.

10  Re: Winter Book Swap: Sign Ups Closed-Send Outs: 12/7/18 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by zcrafter on: December 01, 2018 11:17:46 PM
I got everything finished and wrapped today. Just need to put it all together for shipping. Here are two teasers for kittykill.

I kind of like the blurry effect on the second one.

Planning to send on Monday.
