i was thinking that the covers could be dif colors, like the slingshot. and also, we havemany artists in the group, so we could make like 5-6 dif. cover designs, becuase everyone in all the progressive groups wants one, so we want some variety, so everyone doesnt have the same thing.

as far as cost. we are probably going to be able to get alot of money from sga so in anideal situation we would like to give them out for free, and suggest a donation to the orginization of yoour choice. But, if the amount we have to spend to make it excedes what we are alloted, we will have to charge, but not for profit, just enough to cover the making of it.

thanks for replying! yes...we are trying to get money from sga and do it though our progressive counsil. i proposed it at my meeting yesterday and everyone loved and we are going to start meeting this weekend to discuss the logistics. we decided that we would assign diffrent weeks of the year to diffrent groups based on the date...like earth week could go to eco-advocates and save the planet...women't history month would be divided between the diffrent feminist groups and so on and so fourth.

we found a local book binder so i think it might work out aweome, and one of our members knows how to book bind so we might just go with that. i just want it to be clean, and not fall apart during spring semister.

i love the idea of each group hand making that week with photos of events from last year, hand written important dates, famous peoples birthdays, people from our groups birthdays.

i'm so flippin' stoked. any sugestions are greatly welcomed!

So i recently fell in love with the slingshot planner/organizer, shown here:

And heres a link to the makers website:

A slingshot is a anarchist, diy organizer founded on the principles of fighting capitalism and supporting a do it yourself attitude. The whole thing is filled with hand written notes and dates and is completely amazing. I love it. But I thought of this recently, that it is very hard to find them online, and the stores that sell them are few a far between. I also would love the idea of making on myself, with my artwork and my interests lining the pages. Im in numerous on campus activist groups, on being sds and I thought of how amazing it would be to have our schools dates and our organizations dates as well. I would blow a fuse.

So bookbinders.if I wanted to make a couple of these, what are my strategies? Kinkos? Photo copier? How the in hay do you do that style of binding? By hand? Machine? Are they are good websites where you can send your stuff and they print them for you?

Thanks all for the help.

8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Applique Tooth Ache Patch on backpack on: March 10, 2007 05:19:04 PM
Soo, there has been lots of applique going on in my house as of late, (see my roomates new teeshirt:https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=157393.0
So we sat out on our backyard swing on this beautiful cool day in florida and sewed our little hearts out. I make this tooth-ache patch with light blue felt, dark brown, tan felt, and red floss.
He has a little adhesive bandage on his toothy crown because he ate too many sweeties.

i hope you enjoy.

goodness, stranger. this is quite impressive indeed. your needlework mirrors a seasoned expert, (in my humble opinion)
for the same sds party, (although i've never, ever met this user before in my life...honest)
i made an sds patch as well, see here:
