I received from bluepaisan today... it was a HUGE box and I was very confused as to what it was until I opened it. lol!

Here is my character Dotee... I mean, here I am? I mean... uhh... here is the Dotee version of me that bluepaisan created. And it's awesome.  Cheesy

The Scrabble tiles are my initials... she stalked me on Facebook to get the hair and everything right... and she even put me in an outfit resembling Hogwarts robes (which my husband just bought me for our anniversary). The whole thing is a great mix of geeky, creative genius. Oh- the arms and legs are actually beaded strands, which is a super-neat idea.

My lovely partner, Interrobam, received ages ago, but she's been having some issues posting pictures... and since I'm impatient, I'm going to post the one I took before sending. Hopefully she can add some better ones later on.

We're both Hufflepuffs and she specifically asked for a container to take with her to hold all her sewing supplies. I took that idea and ran with it- making her a 'puff themed travel sewing kit.

-folding scissors
-needle threader
-magnets x3
-pincushion (magnetized so it'll stick to the tin)
-seem ripper
-retractile tape measure
-mini thread x10
-containers labeled and filled with fasteners, velcro, elastic, & buttons)
-badger needle book (with needles, black/yellow pins...)

The tin itself is lined with glittery black paper and yellow ribbon. The crest on the lid is made of chip board, so it's really sturdy.

I received from honeyd!!

Okay... First off we have a lap quilt. That fabric is amazing!! The colors look really nice in my living room, so I'm going to find the perfect spot in there for it to live when not in use.

Next- we have a set of book plates, colorful bookmark (excuse the cat trying to eat it), and a lovely quote book. honey put her favorite quotes in the book, but there is plenty of room for me to add tons more. This will work out much better then the pad of post-it notes I'm currently using to store favorite quotes.

The books:

** Pillage & Choke - These sound like a fun YA series and since honeyd LOVES the author, I'm sure they'll be a good read.
** Crown Duel - Sounds like a fun medieval romantic story.
** Airman - I'll admit my curiosity is peeked on this one... since honeyd actually used the work "perfect" to describe it...

Seriously though- what's with these author's names? Eoin Colfer, Sherwood Smith, Obert Skye...?!?!?!  Cheesy

Okay- I saved the best for last. I have two favorite book series. 'Harry Potter' and Mercedes Lackey's 'Valdemar' books. In the 'Valdemar' books there are characters called Companions... who are (simply put) spirit guides in the bodies of horses. If you like fantasy novels I HIGHLY recommend you read them (start with the 'Magic' or 'Heralds' trilogies). Anyway... honey made me, not one, but two Companions.

The first is TINY. I took a picture of it on my hand so you would have some idea of the size. She wasn't totally happy with how it turned out, but I think it's so delicate and lovely.

The second is my favorite thing from this package- it's my very own amigurumi Companion. I seriously love this thing!!

And to show how perfect she replicated them, here are my Companions in their new home on my bookshelf... I turned one of the books so that you could see the cover illustration. (honeyd- I can't wait to hear what you think of the 'Valdemar' book I sent you!!)

I just want to say THANK YOU to both of my partners!! You both sent books I'm really excited to read and crafts that I'm over the moon about. I hope you two love your packages as much as I love mine. This swap seriously rocked!!

And THANK YOU psyche, for organizing. You're wonderful and I hope there will be a round 2 sometime in the near future. Smiley

I received from Rene24601 today!!

First- she stamped some cute bookplates for me. I love the image!

Then, she made this BEAUTIFUL pendant, based on my love of 'Harry Potter' and fantasy creatures. Seriously- this thing is SO pretty. I'm almost afraid to wear it though, so I think it might get hung on the bulletin board above my desk... that way I can see it all the time. Smiley

The books:

** Weight- This is one I specifically asked for and am really excited to read! It's from a series where different authors retell various myths.
** The Kitchen Boy- She sent this because I love reading history (specifically WWII). Little did she know that I went through a phase where I was OBSESSED with the last Russian Tsar and his family. This is right up my alley!
** Fantastic Beasts...- HP stuff is always a safe bet. Smiley
** Northanger Abbey...- While I've read the title novel, I have not read Sandition, which is also included in this volume.
** Two Princesses of Bamarre- I've read and enjoyed several of Levine's other books, so this one should be fun.

Oh- she also sent a great bookmark that says "I always channel my emotions into my work. That way I don't hurt anyone but myself." I didn't get a picture though, because it went immediately into the book I was starting. Smiley

Thank you so much, Dana! I love everything!

Okay- ready your wists buttons, because I received from Interrobam and she's freaking amazing!

Here's the package the owl dropped off for me. I actually managed to get a picture before tearing into it!

According to the letter (from Prof. Sprout), I apparently left a few of my belongings at school when I came home for break. She kindly shrunk them down and sent them home to me. I really need to be more careful about leaving things around, because apparently I have really awesome stuff. Wink

Firstly, my copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. There are drawings on all of the pages and it's set up as a needle book. The ring pin cushion is a congratulations gift for being sorted into Hufflepuff. The plant is my clipping of Devil's Snare, which I carelessly left in the greenhouse. How, I don't know, because it's mega-super-cool. Seriously- all of the branches are wired so it can hold stuff! There was also a hand drawn mermaid print, but it didn't photograph well. Trust me, it's beautiful and truly belongs in a fantasy critter text book.

Then, I apparently disrobed behind an armchair in the common room.  Roll Eyes Not going to comment on why that might have happened... so she graciously sent home my robes, skirt, and scarf (shrunk down of course).

The awesome thing about the shrunken clothes? They fit my poppet. Seriously. That's something that has been on my wish-list for AGES!! I was so excited about these that I refused to post pictures until I made a shirt and sweater to go under it. So... now she's all dressed. Smiley

Thank you so much, Emily. Everything is totally awesome and completely me! <3

Okay- I feel the need to show this hoopla I did a while ago... because you guys will actually get it.  Cheesy It's a kind of crappy picture (the rocket looks a little wonky)- there are metallic silver stars all over in the background that don't show up. Anyway...

I received from batgirl today!

Here are my hoops... me walking my dog Eevee! Smiley The hair came off of a sheep named Reilly, which is kind of awesome. They are mixed-media... not only the hair, but fabric, and a ceramic doll arm... I've never seen hoops like this before. Super-creative. Smiley

And close-ups:

Thanks, batgirl- they're already up on my hoopla wall!

I received from the lovely and talented Tygir today! I'm sure your wist fingers are tired after all the great stuff in this gallery, but you're going to need them for this post. Smiley

First of all, there was this great Horde hoopla for my wall. The stitching is really clean and it'll look perfect with my other hoops.

Then, a Hearthstone mug rug. Again- beautifully made. So much, in fact, that I almost want to hang it on the wall instead of using it.  Cheesy

Next, Tygir made me some yummy smelling soaps and send some great tea (for cold resists). The soaps are for freshening up after long raids.

This little guy practically hopped out of the box when I opened it. It's Bagel- one of my two main combat pets! He's already sitting on top of my tower with Thrall (my Windrider cub).

Tygir also made me this great reversible pendant. The main side is a wood-burned Horde symbol, the back is a painted symbol of Hyjal (which wouldn't photograph well).

Are your wists fingers tired yet? Hope not, because you're all going to die when you see my favorite thing from this package...

Yeah. Told you so. Go visit the Spirit Guide and then come back and finish reading this post.  Wink

Here are some close ups of the AMAZING triptych painting Tygir did for me. My pictures don't do them justice. The details are astounding and the colors are much more vivid.

First is my 'toon.

Then, both of my main combat pets: Wiggly and Bagel. This panel is my favorite. Smiley

Finally, my husband's Priest. I have a feeling the paintings are going to get split up, because I'm sure he's going to want to hang this piece over his desk.

Thank you so so so SO much, Tygir. Not only are you a wonderfully talented crafter, but you're a really cool person too. I've had a blast crafting for you and chatting in game.

20  Re: OTHPT2 aka One Tiny Harry Potter Thing Round 2~Signups Closed ~ Sendouts Mar. 31 ~ in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by PirateColey on: March 08, 2011 04:24:41 PM
I got the rest (I hope!) of my supplies today. And had a totally awesome Harry Potter surprise!!

I drove 30 miles to this great scrapbook shop to get some paper for my OTT. Well, this particular scrapbook shop also carries the licensed Harry Potter paper and embellishments. Unfortunately, the paper is mostly gold & maroon colored, which doesn't help my OTT, as my partner is a 'Puff.

So... I bought a few things for my vacation scrapbook. The owner was manning the cash register, so I asked her (half jokingly) if she'd be willing to sell me the poster she had in the window advertising the paper line. She pulled it down and gave it to me!!

If you guys haven't seen the paper line, the stuff is really nice looking. A lot of the paper is double sided and the embellishments are really high quality. You can get it online at acherryontop.com and paperwishes.com (they each sell different items).
