1  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Scones on: January 21, 2009 10:04:15 AM
Meyer Lemon and Fresh Cranberry Scones

These were not the most beutiful of my tasty creations, though they were absolutely delicious !

I live in the California Bay Area, and have fresh, local, organic produce delivered to me weekly from Capay Farms. Each week they send new produce, so during the holidays two of the items in our box we received were meyer lemons, and fresh cranberries  so I found a receipe to use both!

If you like a tart, and not too sweet morning treat, these are perfect !

Plus, if you live in the bay area check out farmfreshtoyou.com from Capay farms, and support local farmers and eat fresh ~
2  COOKING / Dessert / Ugly Doll Cake on: January 15, 2009 10:56:48 AM

This was my first attempt at Fondant molding.

I also added some dots on the side which were fondant rolled out thin and cut out .

The little guys, Ugly Dolls, were my daughters choice for her 10th birthday cake.

They were a bit more difficult but were just molded with the fondant.

I had a lot fun doing it too !

3  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Freehand Crochet Friends on: January 14, 2009 12:45:49 PM
SO I got on a roll making amigurumi dolls, inspired by Creepy Cute Crochet book by Cristen Haden.

I made a few from the book, though I quickly go the urge to add a lil of my own to them. I made them larger ( 6 to 7 in). and came up with my own designs.

His name is Frankie... lil frankenstein inspired by my one year old nephew learning how to walk... he looked like a lil frankenstein.

This was my second one made for my lovley sister who was dying for me to make a Twiztid, violent Jay... ithink ( an insane clown posse protege ) ....and he is not giving a thumbs up...
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / baby showers on: January 14, 2009 11:28:56 AM
My favorite party planning experience was for my friends Baby Shower !

Her colors were pink and black and white, so cute.

A lot of her family lived 1+ hours away, so I thought it would be good to start her a blog so when she had the baby the family could get updated and see pictures of the baby.

So one of the favors I gave out was a magnet, that I desinged and printed with the blogaddress on it.

It turned out really cute !

Here is the blog with pictures if any one wants to grab ideas from it !
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Doggy pit stop area on: January 14, 2009 10:54:28 AM
So I just got two new puppies, and I have a section of my yard that is empty, and I wanted to create a doggy doodie area...so I don't have to worry about them running through their poop on the lawn before I can get to it... or having the lawn die with them pottying on the lawn.

So my question is what medium would you use to put down in this area....

I don't want to cement it...

debating between pea gravel or bark... or any suggestoins on a plant ground cover ??

also yah or na for weed blocker to be layed under the cover....

any thoughts???
