21  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Re: Wrap pants... on: June 08, 2007 05:45:05 PM
paxye, thanks for sharing this  Smiley I look at the pattern a few days ago and dismissed it as not curve friendly but you changed my mind. Your tie pants looks great!!
Spring has sprung here and none of last years clothes fasten ( my Beloved is a fantastic cook LOL )  I haven't made anything other than underthings for myself in a while now, I think I'll have to give these a go

This is so totally OT but...I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE your avatar!  It reminds me of being on the beach in Sint Maarten for my honeymoon three years ago  Grin LOL
22  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Old Gift Cards on: June 02, 2007 11:20:05 AM
ack- I have this problem too- I  know somebody here made a curtain out of target cards, but they had quite a few..

LOL! I used to work at Target and collected used gift cards just for this purpose...I have about 50 assorted ones.  I also find myself collecting those fake credit cards that come in the mail and other stores gift cards.  I guess you can take a Dremel and drill a hole in each corner, then use small jump rings to attach them to each other.  My daughter had a suggestion--how about doing this, but spray painting them after you drill the holes?  That way they can be any color.  The engraved numbers and stuff might show up, but who cares?
23  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: What to do with a bright pink laundry detergent jug? on: May 13, 2007 07:52:07 AM
Hello crafters! I bought a special edition of laundry detergent that comes in a beautiful bright pink jug! I'd love to make something for my daughter out of it, but not sure what?! Any ideas?Huh

I was racking my brain about this...and darn if I didn't find the pics I saved with the artist's name as the file!  If I used these different colored bottles, I'd make a small version of the lamp.

24  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Bamboo placemat from Target... on: March 05, 2007 07:53:06 AM

The fact that I work at Target drives me nuts LOL!  Whenever stuff in domestics or seasonal goes on clearance, I find myself going thru the fabrics thinking "Oh my goodness, that's a beautiful piece of fabric...can a make a dress/purse/something out of it?"

So, here's a bamboo placemat that went on clearance last week for .97 cents.  Stay tuned for the construction of the purse...cause I wanna make something like this--

25  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Re: peek a boo lingerie! on: March 03, 2007 04:50:27 PM
perhaps i should try this with some clear vinyl 'cups' for my girls. give the illusion of perkyness... or like two little children doing blowfish on a window  Roll Eyes

LMAO!  All I kept thinking about was "Fairly Oddparents" and this fishbowl episode... Cheesy
26  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Valentines purse from table runner. on: February 17, 2007 06:52:29 PM
That's adorable.
I just got back from Target. It's a wonderful place for inspiration. Unfortunately I didn't find any table runners like that.

LOL! I WORK at Target and I "eyeball" stuff when it goes on clearance..."Hmm, wonder what I can make from that?"  It's sad...I am known for making my paper clip bracelets and purses from packing tape and old photos/magazine pages instead for the work I do  Grin

I will be hitting up the Valentine's (seasonal) section and even the "Global" section as I know it should be going on 50% clearance soon  Wink

Stay tuned for photos...
27  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: Swap anyone? on: February 15, 2007 08:45:55 PM
I'll swap if I am eligible...and, as a side note (read OT), I am trying to figure out a way to make a khaki kilt for myself for work as something different (ala UtiliKilt or AmeriKilt). I work for a retailer who's uniform involves khaki pants or skirts...and I go by the beat of my own drummer  Grin Guess I have to post that elsewhere Wink

Oh yeah, I'm a size 22-24
28  New York / New York: West / Re: Is anyone out there in Buffalo? on: February 14, 2007 07:13:43 AM
And I plan on moving to "The Roc" (Rochester) by August of this year...sorry, I know it ain't Buffalo Cheesy
29  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Shrinky dinks and deli container lids... on: January 31, 2007 08:41:12 PM
Shrinky dinks are fun, but the supplies do tend to get expensive.  Besides, with all of the extra plastic floating around this planet, I figured I could use some thing else.  Somewhere (and I can't reemember where), I read someone had used deli container lids as a substitute for the Shrinky Dink plastic...but I forget the grade of plastic!  Was it a '5'?  I know that 1 and 2 are recycleable here...

Anyone know what I am talking about?  Tongue
30  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: red asian fans hand bag. on: January 30, 2007 06:48:43 PM
I abolutely love your bag!  I looked at it again and realized..."Wally World" has that fabric by the yard (or, at least they did last fall).  I made a dress for my 1 year old daughter and a hobo bag for me.  Guess I'll have to post pictures...

You did a great job!  Smiley
