Got this done yesterday, it's a bit oozy and bleedy in this pic but it was freshly done Wink
It is my on left shin and takes up most of it. I am planning on going back in a few months and getting an anatomical heart on the other shin.

5  sock creatures in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by twelvety on: June 14, 2006 05:39:55 PM
I made these for the "Send us yer bits" swap where I got a parcel full of stuff and had to create from it. I got some excellent socks and this is what 2 pairs became.
Mils (pics are unfortuately blurry) He was sewn entirely by hand, that was a killer.

I kinda wanted to keep this one.

Awwwww, no worries, I enjoyed trying to wrap my head around it all and only ended up with a few headaches Wink
Thanks for being an awesome partner and a great organiser  Grin

Here's a couple extra pics of "Gary" where you can see his little nubbly tail. I had to hide him and Mils from the kidlet or they may have not made it to you. He insisted on kissing them goodbye before I sent Smiley
The plate I found on my way to the Post Office and as soon as I saw it I knew it was just right for you.

I recieved a load of cool stuff yesterday from jane feebles, I am feeling less like death today so it must have been the cool things.Smiley
Where to start?
I sent a pack of "tropical" souvenier coasters and a pair of round bamboo handles and I got back this;

I sent a piece of brocade type fabric and a "make your own buttons" kit that had written on the packaging "no skill required!"  I got back a cushion cover with "no skill required!" embroidered on it, the dots above the "i"s and the exclamation mark are the buttons but the pic doesn't show it so well.

A little coin purse and an old science book for kids turned into this cute little purse.

A couple of balls of pinky coloured wool came back as knitted and felted (?) bowls with directions to not fill them with baked beans Wink

And some hospital fabric that became the coolest knitting needle roll EVER!!!

And some little button badges

And just because, a packet of "wipe on sex appeal", I think I might actually need it at the moment, I feel pretty skanky. I am a little too scared to open though. Tongue

I think I have covered everything, if you have better pics fee, go for it, mine aren't the best. The "good" camera only does great macro and the other camera is getting a bit old I think.
Thank you so much. Grin.

8  The Knitting Room in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by twelvety on: May 17, 2006 12:42:32 AM
"The Knitting Room (a Strathcare initiative) is an imaginative, collaborative project centred around older members of the Tasmanian community (many of whom live in aged care homes) magically conjured from threads and fibre. The projects creative processes harnessed their traditional skills of knitting, crocheting, weaving and stitching to fashion part of a 1950's home.
Over 300 participants - average age 70+

Artists working with participants;

Gwen Egg
Shirley Johnson
Anita Flckiger"

I had the pleasure of going and seeing this today and although taking photos was not allowed, luckily I managed to get permission to take a few to share (thanks to Robyn who after I explained craftster to her allowed me to do so). It was amazing to see, I wanted to touch everything.

My slightly blurry, hastily taken photos don't do it all the justice it deserves. Smiley
(If I have posted this in the wrong place I am sorry)

OK, software up and running, here's the excellent goodies jane feebles sent me.

socks, fabric, buttons, webbing type trim (?), beads, a key ring and a post card that says "get your nuts wet", hee hee!

a fantabulous scarf with a map of aus, I am not sure I can do this justice  Undecided

Aaaaaannndddd, the rabbit pelt! I have already had to rescue it off the cat, I am not sure what she was planning on doing with it but she had some kind of 'super horn' for it  Wink

10  Re: fill a coin purse round 4 in The Swap Gallery by twelvety on: April 18, 2006 10:13:50 PM
I recieved my purse and goodies today from d0t.
She sent me a ton of great stuff (well perhaps not a ton but you get the idea Smiley )

first up the coin purse itself, blue and furry and the zip is like teeth, yeh!

Clockwise from top left, "thermo-pad" self heating heart-shaped hand warmer that came in it's own kinda velvety pouch (it is amazing, never encountered these before), cute card, retractable tape measure, tiny pencil, teeny tiny sticky tape, notepad (all perfect to fit in my bag), red press studs and Hello Kitty lollipop.

And some fibre to add to what I am spinning, Sari silk, silver sparkly stuff and undyed silk.
I am lucky  Grin Cheers heaps d0t, you rock!
