11  Adventures in shrink plastic in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by FriendlyNeighbourPsycho on: April 14, 2010 05:46:33 PM
Ive been collecting the #6 plastic for awhile now so that I could finally try shrink plastic. I have had one project done for months now but I was to terrified to put it in the oven incase it didnt work..I was going to be devistated if it didnt work out. So I tested two peices that I was equally attached to but those ended up in the garbage. They all came out awful first try in the oven, but I decided to try remelting them but this time with a heat gun. Needless to say that came out much better Smiley I was even able to make the circle that came out a square a somewhat circle again! Anyways that was my rant...onto pictures  Cheesy They took FOREVER to get decent pictures of by the way!

All the charms are based off of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It took me forever to get it to hang the way I wanted it to. It is the Triforce, Spiritual stones and Six medallions that you collect through the game. Top: Triforce, Middle: Kokiri's Emerald, Goron's Ruby, and Zora's Sapphire and Bottom: Light, Forest, Fire, Water, Spirit and Shadow Medallions. I had intended to make it a bracelet but it evolved. Tell me is it too much?

My Mass Effect earrings Smiley Renegade and Paragon. If youve never played: if your character does enough bad actions they are a renegade and if they do good actions they are a paragon. I like a little bit of both. This is the second try at these, the first are the ones that got thrown out. The original renegade one I did was green but I decided to go red for the new one.

On monday I got so excited when Cliffy B showed the Gears of War 3 trailer on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon that a small part of me got very very sad that my COG tags arent done yet (Im waiting for my brothers assistance because theres no way Im doing the last step alone!)...so I decided I needed something Gears of War like right now. Its the gnasher, torque bow, lancer and longshot. The torque bow and lancer really should have done opposite things..the lance became very chubby and the torque bow became very long..

The only one that I made that isnt based on a game..The little fishie and the plant are on one side, the bubbles and water are on the other. I made the necklace awhile ago but I wasnt sure if I liked the pendant so I had an idea for this one and I think it looks alot better. So far this is the best I could get for a detail shot.

I sealed them all with clear nail polish because I read you can do that and its all that I had. I wasnt sure if I was going to seal them but two of them started to smudge..

12  FANBOYS Love!! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by FriendlyNeighbourPsycho on: March 13, 2010 06:42:57 PM
So first off, if you havent seen Star Wars OR Fanboys this probably wont make much sense....
Upon watching Fanboys I fell in love with this logo and decided I needed it, so I painted one myself! I completely love it and its now currently hanging in my kitchen. Just so you know its not hanging crooked, I must have took the picture on an angle or something...and Im far to lazy at the moment to take another one.
Please indulge my little rant: I have no idea how I couldnt sketch the letters many times over but when completely freehanding them with paint somehow they managed to come out pretty much perfect...I just dont understand. But I shouldnt complain, I just wish I could harness it Cheesy

13  Re: 50 Projects 2010 in Craftalongs by FriendlyNeighbourPsycho on: March 08, 2010 12:27:47 PM
Almost a month ago now we had a really rough week were we lost three pets, and since Ive had some trouble getting back into the crafting mood...Aside from drawing and taking pictures Ive hardly done anything Embarrassed So I figured Id work on some of my WIP's only to find Im stuck on them...So Im hoping that someone here can help me out. One of my projects is a pop tab belt and I got the bulk of it done in one night awhile ago but now I cant figure out where to go from there

I need to figure out a way to make it a bit more sturdy since some parts get tangled or come off and now Im not sure how I should go about making it into a belt (if that makes sense). I even thought of going a hip scarf type route because I thought it could be easier but Im not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated since Im so very stuck...

I am so excited guys, after one day of having it outside the birds are using my bird feeder!! I really wanted to share!

It looks like theyve already eaten alot of the seed I put in there yesterday. Im very very happy they are using it!!! As soon as I saw them in there I ran to the window with my camera  Grin

So Ive finished a project, althought I still have to string it up and hang it outside...But the way its been snowing the past two days I dont think I will be able to make it to a tree to hang it off of!!

I kinda winged it but Im happy with the results. I built it in two parts, the base and the roof. In case you were wondering..I stained it...because  popsicle sticks are technically wood  Grin Its also has 2 coats of sealer on it so its all ready to go. I was a little concerned with how the glue would show with the stain but it wasnt too bad. Im going to put a little container in there for food when I hang it. I also thought of maybe putting water container in it when it gets nicer for like a hanging bird bath type thing or just leaving it to see if they make themselves cozy...Not sure which though.

16  Zombies and Demons!! Lots of pictures in Completed Projects by FriendlyNeighbourPsycho on: December 18, 2009 02:47:02 PM
I'm going to start off by saying that I was inspired by this post by chezlin: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=237984.0
I showed that to my brother and he thought it was awesome so I decided to make him one for Christmas (I figured its close enough to Christmas now and HE better not see this!!)...and after loving how the gun turned out I decided I wanted one too but I didn't want it to be exactly the same. I tried thinking of what I could do differently and then my idea hit me...and I felt incredibly stupid for not thinking of it sooner!! This is what I came up with Smiley

This is my gift for my brother:

And this is mine:

I hope you'll bear with my massive picture spam here and massive explanations...The frames were easily the most infuriating part of this project. I bought two frames to find that the guns where just slightly larger then the backing would allow. Then the only other frame I could find was $20 and I wasn't about to spend that kind of money when I wasn't sure if it would fit...So I constructed my own out of cardboard, then covered it in left over craft paper and glued all my felt in place. Then I bought to cheap frames from the thrift store and spray painted them black. Now the big hassle...I didn't want to glue the frames down because I wanted it to be able to open...so I had a thought one day to try velcro. So I cut and glued velcro to the sides and the frame backs...and it works YAY! Anyways onto more pictures!

I didn't think to take a before picture so I went back the dollar store and snuck a picture Tongue My first go at this went pretty well I think..I was even able to sand of the giant made in China stamp! Ive had it done for like 3 months now....that's how long it took me to find a solution for the frame problem  Sad

Incase you couldn't tell mine was based off of Supernatural!! I couldn't really find a lot of good pictures of the details of both The Colt and Ruby's Knife so I kinda just winged it...I was trying to keep it as close as possible until I realized that my 'Colts' shape was completely off, then I decided just to go until I was happy with it.

Ruby's Knife was a bit harder. First I cut the knife so the blade would be the same shape, then I used clay to get it to look more like the original. Then I just drew in the symbols with a pencil and spray painted it.

The other side of the both of them:

And then them together:

I'm still debating if I want to put in a little thing of salt in there. I wanted to make a In Case Of Ninja's one too for another Christmas gift but I couldn't find any stuff for it  Sad Once again I really apologize for the HUGE post but I'm really rather excited with how they turned out.

17  Record Earring Holders in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by FriendlyNeighbourPsycho on: November 20, 2009 10:17:34 AM
So I made these a few years back and Ive always considered them unfinished because I wanted to cover up the red labels.

So I was hoping perhaps fellow craftsters could help me out since Ive been drawing a huge blank. Should I even cover them or just leave them how they are now? Any opinions/help would be greatly appreciated!!

18  Re: Miyazaki All Year 'Round Craft Along in Craftalongs by FriendlyNeighbourPsycho on: August 19, 2009 06:46:10 PM
So technically I made this a few months ago, hope thats ok!

Really would like to try another one but at the same time I almost wish I had done it much larger...In a jar or something. Not sure which approach I want to take with the next one.

19  Kawaiiness!! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by FriendlyNeighbourPsycho on: July 25, 2009 12:59:38 PM
So I wanted to try another bracelet after making my Fruits Basket one. So I pondered for a very long time and then an idea snuck up on me..and I dare say it turned out better than I had hoped! Its done pretty much entirely the same as my Fruits Basket bracelet...I hand painted them the flesh color and then painted on all the little faces Cheesy I love them! I think there adorable! But onto the picture so you can tell me if I'm justified in thinking so.

The flash kind of messed up the view on a few of the beads but other than that you can see them all pretty good. I cant take credit for err 'designing' all the faces I just kinda went off ones I found. Love to know what you guys think! Thanks for looking!

20  Foray into beading in Beads: Completed Projects by FriendlyNeighbourPsycho on: June 18, 2009 02:16:00 PM
So Ive been attempting and so far Im pretty happy with the results so far. I followed patterns off of Beading Daily..althogh the last pair I kinda wandered...
My first pair came out a little wonky but I still like them  Wink

My second pair turned out a bit better.

My last pair is my favorite I think. The first one went awesome...the second..not so much...lol.

I learned many lessons...like I am completely able to injure myself beading...Would love to hear what you guys think  Smiley
