1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: December 2006 Birthday Swap Gallery on: January 13, 2007 03:25:10 PM
I received a lovely crocheted (I think) scarf from Vampirebunny.

It's actually knitted (never have managed crochet) but it's weird little stitch pattern so you're forgiven Tongue

I'm glad you like it, I thought it would be a good choice of yarn because you said you wanted comfort over style, which is also why it's not very bulky - they tend to get in the way in my experience.

Me too! Sad

Grin not that heavy, but heavy for a yarn ball

I know the feeling, it was partly due to the size of the box but it cost over 8 to send mine(internationally) and that's about $16

Thankfully I'd just received my pocket money - I love being a kid. Hence me dreading Christmas (I turn 18 on the 24th Sad)

Hi I'm Hazel and I'm turning 18 on the 24th so great big adultness as I live in England and can now drink, vote and pay taxes.

Here's my list!

- A how to needle felt kit, I've played with wet felting on my fashion course and I don't think it's quite me but needle felting is tres intriguing.

- A needle roll for my knitting needles

- Yarn, I don't care what it is I just have to build up the stash, which reminds me...

- A how to spin kit, I've tried doing a bit of research but it's all been a bit intimidating. Having one set of instructions to follow seems like a good idea.

- Shrinky dinks and other random American stuff I can't find here, namely candy - I've heard of temporary tongue tattoos, I need some! Thanks raina.storms!

- No scarfs, random I know but I have a kabillion of the things and I kinda don't wear them, thanks for understanding you beautiful, beautiful people.

- Some kind of zip-up hoodie, a M or a size 12 UK which I think is an 8 in the US?

- A bag, something fairly roomy and either not too structured or messenger bag style with a long over the shoulder type strap. I can't manage the typical purse ones. Thanks mint!

- A suprise, 'cos everybody loves suprises. Thanks Banga!

I like most colours, generally not big on purple and brown but sometimes I love them so go figure. I do especially like silver and green, I am a natural born Slytherin. I love Buffy, Angel and Firefly, I'm planning to get a tattoo shortly after my birthday and I'm generally a bit (read 'incredibly') insane.

Happy Birthday everyone!

Dulcinea you are officially awesome! My magic yarn ball is making me very happy, even though I've started the pattern about 4 times because it hates me but it seems to be working this time. Oh and is the beautiful smelling thing wrapped in pink soap? I've mostly just been smelling it than working out anything more important Tongue

Sent mine yesterday . . ..

C'mon vampirebunny, where's the pictures? I've got to have something to look at, if I don't, I'll do something horrible, like . . . well, the homework I've been putting off all week!

You may have to do that homework after all unfortunately - I did sit down just now to post pictures and it turns out their all a big blur but I'll take more tomorrow and post them then (It's probably for the best, they were sucky pics anyway)

I recieved! It's gorgeous and there's no way I'm going to be able to resist unwrapping it. It's not my fault, it rattles! You wouldn't stand a chance either...

Pictures later today.

I honestly don't know whether I'm gonna wait or not. I know I'll try not to but not decided leaves me more guilt-free if I do cave Tongue

I really like Nest Materials but I think maybe it would be better without the suede. Not because I don't love the idea of it ('cos I do) but I think it's just one too many lines if you know what I mean Huh

The rest of your pieces are beautiful also Grin

I also love the tights, I have one pair of really funky tights (blatantly machine-knit  or by a crazy person) that are a fishnet type pattern in pink yarn. Why don't they make tights like that anymore?

That's a really good idea Kristen81, I might give that a go - I went on a big shopping spree today for the yarn and the bought goodies. Now I just have to make the crafty bits. Saving the best 'til last Tongue
