11  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Pipe Cleaner Baby Ostrich on: July 05, 2009 01:08:35 PM
You'd think it was spring with all the baby animals I'm making with pipe cleaners! Here is my latest, a baby ostrich!  She is made of pipe cleaners, and a little felt for the beak.  She sits 3-inches high!

12  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Pipe Cleaner Baby Seal on: June 27, 2009 12:17:40 PM
Here is my latest little Fuzzy... It's a baby snow seal! This little guy measures approximately 1.5 inches and is made entirely our of white pipe cleaners and plastic beads.  No glue used, just traditional wire-wrapping techniques.  Enjoy!! =)

13  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Asian Inspired Bamboo Pendant on: March 26, 2009 03:49:47 PM
Here are a few bamboo tile pendants that I made using some old chinese lucky red envelopes that I had.  These came out really nicely because the gold accents on the red envelope paper makes these look really unique compared to typical bamboo tile pendants.  I love them!

14  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Pipe Cleaner Dinosaur - Henry on: March 06, 2009 09:41:43 PM
Here is my latest pipe cleaner creation, Henry the dinosaur and a prehistoric tree! Henry is made of green pipe cleaners and pink felt for the tongue.  I basically used up my whole stash of green pipe cleaners for the dino and tree (about 10 pipe cleaners).  The dinosaur measures 3.5 inches from nose to tail, and 2.5 inches high.  The tree is about 4 inches high.  I went for a more abstract look with the tree.  I love how Henry looks so friendly!!

15  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Fuzzy Baby Elephant Pipe Cleaner Animal on: February 24, 2009 12:00:44 AM
Here is my latest pipe cleaner animal, a baby elephant! She measures 3.5 inches tip to tip and 2 inches tall.  She came out a little larger than I had intended, and I ended up using all of my gray pipe cleaners to make her, about 15 of them! She's also a bit heavy... it's amazing how all those featherweight pipe cleaners can add up in weight!  I used plastic beads for her eyes and a little pink felt for her mouth.  The pink portion of the ears are also pipe cleaners!

16  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Pipe Cleaner Maneki Neko on: February 13, 2009 05:23:02 PM

Here is my hubby's Valentine's Day present! It is a pipe cleaner Maneki Neko! He stands about 2 inches tall and is made of white pipe cleaners, with a little red, yellow, and green felt for the accents, and a little bell.  I used a sharpee marker for the dark parts of the yellow spots.  His eyes are plastic beads.  I bought a little wood disk from Michaels for $0.89 and painted it with red acrylic paint, and glued the cat to the wooden base to make him look more like those Japanese statuettes.

For those of you who don't know what it is, from Wikipedia:
"The Maneki Neko (招き猫, literally "Beckoning Cat"; also known as Welcoming Cat, Lucky Cat, Money cat or Fortune Cat) is a common Japanese sculpture, often made of porcelain or ceramic, which is believed to bring good luck to the owner.  Maneki Neko can be found with either the right or left paw raised (and sometimes both). The significance of the right and left raised paw differs with time and place. The most common belief is that the left paw raised brings in customers, while a right paw brings wealth and good luck, although some believe the opposite. Still others say that a left paw raised is best for drinking establishments, the right paw for other stores."

My husband is a business owner, so I thought I'd make him a Maneki Neko to help keep him going during the bad economy. I wasn't sure which paw was more significant raised, so I just raised both of them!

My hubby generally hates cats, but I think he loves this one! =)

17  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Pipe Cleaner Animal - Norm the Sheep on: February 06, 2009 04:38:59 PM
Here's a new pipe cleaner animal... Norm the Sheep! He measures approximately 1.75 inches in length (you can see compared to a quarter).

I used black and white pipe cleaners.  Two black pipe cleaners were used to form the head and base of the body.  Then I used about 4 white pipe cleaners to make the wool! His eyes are two plastic beads, and I inserted a little pink felt to make the inside of his tongue!  He's quite the cutie I think!

My hands are really wrinkly looking!! =(
18  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Pipe Cleaner Animals - My BEST work yet!! on: January 26, 2009 11:03:02 PM

Earlier this month received a request from a lady who wanted to give a pipe cleaner dog  that looked like their late dog to her husband for Valentines Day. With my dog passing away this weekend, this order meant a lot to me because it really sucks losing your doggie pal and I really wanted to do a good job. Well I'm happy to report that I just finished them, and I'm very proud of how they came out!  They are made of plastic beads, brown and white pipe cleaners, and a little pink felt for the tongue.  They measure approximately 2 inches in height.

I've posted the pictures that they lady sent me, and I've posted the Fuzzy based on the picture.

The trickiest part was the mark on Winnie's back that also looks like a sideways dog. I managed to cut out tiny pieces of felt to imitate the mark:

She also wanted one that looked like her dog's "girlfriend"

I hope she'll be as happy with them as I am!!
19  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / New Pipe Cleaner Animal - Marty the Martian Dog on: January 20, 2009 09:05:50 PM
I tried something a little more eccentric this time and made an alien dog! He is made out of green and tan pipe cleaners, and carries a polymer clay bone. He measures 1.5 inches in length. I'm thinking of adding a jumpring to my Fuzzies so they can be hung like a charm. What do you guys think?

20  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / New Pipe Cleaner Animal - Mango the Dog on: January 15, 2009 09:31:19 PM
I love this dog because he reminds me of a Mango-Orange Starburst candy.  The story is that he loves to eat Starbursts, and as a result of the you-are-what-you-eat rule, he's turned yellow and orange!!  Mango measures approximately 1.5 inches in length and is made of yellow and orange pipe cleaners, with a little heart button for a nose! Hope you like it!
