1  Papasan Makeover!! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by delainie on: July 16, 2010 07:16:42 PM
I gave my papasan a makeover!  I used all cotton scraps and had no real plan.  The smallest block is less than 1"x1" and the largest is about 8"x4".  I gave it a pocket back that I stitched closed with big stitches for now so I can take it off to clean it.  I will probably give it buttons and buttonholes on the backside someday, but I was just too excited to test it out  Tongue

Much more eye-catching than the boring black cushion it has had for the last 10 yrs!  This is my first "Home Sweet Home" post, I'd love to hear what you think!

2  The Aliens Have Landed! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by delainie on: October 11, 2009 06:56:39 AM

So I usually stick with sewing, but I broke my machine.  Cry  I can't not make things, so I whipped up this little guy!  I think he needs a blue hoodie then I'm sending him off to a friend's kid in Sheboygan.  I made up the pattern as I went along, so I'd love to hear what you think!   Thanks for looking!

3  Silk Hobo in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by delainie on: July 13, 2009 10:59:13 AM
I've been eyeing this fabric FOREVER and finally picked some up!  I've been craving a bag that wasn't messenger style since that's all I own these days.  I made this without a pattern, so I'm so glad it turned out exactly like the idea in my head!  I'd love to hear what you think!

It is fully lined with natural cotton canvas, with a hidden flap inside for closure.  I'm lovin the knotted strap and antiqued brass hardware too.  I'm also officially obsessed with fabric buttons now.

4  Re: Watercolor Stencil Portrait + TUTORIAL in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by delainie on: April 22, 2009 11:13:46 AM
This was a great tutorial!  I got around to trying it- did the masking fluid last night using my glass coffee table with a lamp under it, then painted it this morning while the kids were making their own masterpiece.  I love how it turned out, except for the faces.  My printer will only print in red (who knows why) so I think it'd have looked better if I could see it better when I did the masking fluid.  I still love it and it's going on my wall.  I havent painted since 8th grade, thank you for the inspiration!  Is it ok to link to this (and your awesome Etsy site) in my blog?

5  Fabric notebooks w/ my new book binder! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by delainie on: April 09, 2009 08:41:36 PM

I got a new book binder for my birthday!  I made a couple fabric covers to test out and ways of attaching them.  I really like the look of them!  I need to come up with some new ways to attach the cover, any ideas?

6  My New Bookbinder! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by delainie on: April 09, 2009 08:35:51 PM
I usually stick with fabric... this is my first post in this section so be kind  Tongue

I got a book binder for my birthday and I love it!  I've been cutting up everything cardboard that I can find and a  heck of a lot of paper!  I found some great album covers to use at the thrift store - one had a bunch of silhouettes of a guy jumping around in a field with a guitar all over the back - so weird, so cool.  Cheesy

7  Bonnaroo Bag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by delainie on: March 09, 2009 08:37:51 PM

Inspired and made for a friend of mine for Bonnaroo!  (Yes we are very early... we are trying to rush summer here lol) She requested a medium size messenger bag that was bright and fun, with inner pockets and a secret pocket, that zips so she won't lose anything.  So, I put in a real cool secret pocket and 2 card pockets.  I used tiny split rings and big silver rings to make the zipper super quick and easy to open.  I really wanted to keep the blue one, but that's the one she chose... oh well, that's who it's supposed to be for... I'm still not over it though!  Cheesy

9  Checkbook Wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by delainie on: March 03, 2009 11:48:02 AM
I made this for a friend of mine.  She wanted a wallet similar to the other wallets I've been making, but she wanted it to hold her checkbook as well.  It has a pocket to hold her checkbook, plus 5 card pockets.  It has a long strap that wraps all the way around and closes with a magnet snap.  I used 8 different fabrics and stitched all the edges with bright pink thread.  I think it turned out nice, and really fun!

(Sorry if my pictures are ginormous!)

10  Swirly Rug! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by delainie on: February 23, 2009 06:43:32 PM

So I was wandering through JoAnn's one day and found a Locker Hook.  It looked like a giant sewing needle with a crochet hook on the end.  2 of my very favorite things!   I asked a couple people if they knew what you do with it.  No one did.  So of course, I bought it!  Cheesy  Took it home and googled it.  SO EASY!  Unfortunately they are pricey to make, so this is my last one.  I think this is #6!

I'm a first-timer here in the Home Sweet Home forum - I'd lvoe to hear what you think!
