The tatted necklaces got sent to a friend of mine who needed some cheering up. The package is a total surprise so hopefully it works.

I love the penguin hoopla and the dress looks great.

The peacock items are amazing. Definitely forgivable for being late since the items are so awesome.

Here's a click-able thumbnail of the tatting.

I just recently taught myself how to needle tat and am definitely still in the learning stages. The two flowers on the left are actually what I learned on. They're the pattern that totusmel of Needle Tatting and other Nonsense teaches you how to tat on.  If you go to her blog she has a list of free tatting patterns on the right and the first on Learn To Tat is the flower.  The large pendant was a pattern from a girl here on craftster, pieknits, blog.

Kick that fairy out!

Here are some needle tatted pendant necklaces. They really are necklaces I just couldn't find the chains I had for them when I took the picture. (I never did find them actually. I just bought new ones.)

I was able to post this package for the Crafty Detective Swap yesterday. So I was only a day late. (It really was mailed out to some friends who will be getting a surprise package soon.)

The pink things are needle tatted pendant necklaces. (The chain is missing because I misplaced it. However, chain was added right before I shipped it.)

OK. I'll try and give an explanation that will make sense. If something doesn't just let me know.

I was originally going to make a second circle skirt (only shorter) out of the orange material to go over the top of the burnt orange skirt. (It was going to lace up on each side like a corset so I needed two halves of a skirt.) So I cute out 4 circle skirt pieces. (I did four so there wouldn't be any seams showing.) I sewed 2 pieces right sides together and then turned them inside out. I then gathered the top so it would be the right waist size. I held it up to the dress and decided a didn't like it. So I began to mess around with it a bit. I gathered it all the way so the two corners of the top of the skirt touched.  So it looked like this (apart from my bad Paint drawing skills.)

Next I took the two ends and folded them down. So it looked like this.

I thought that looked a little bare so I grabbed one of the remaining circle skirt pieces I had cut (all with raw edges) and scrunched it up. Sticking it in the middle of the skirt. Then I took the edges from the middle and folded them outward. I stitched it all down across the top. To cover up the stitching and raw top I hot glued ribbon across it.  It attaches to the dress with snaps.

And here is a picture of the bustle.

Those are all beautiful. I especially love the first bracelet.

I adjusted some patterns. The orange top on the elf outfit is the top of the easy peasy dress done wider (to accommodate bustiness) and longer. It laces up the back.   The skirt is just a rectangle with strips sewn on to it, that I then folded in half and sewed up to hide the tops of the strips. It ties shut with ribbon.

The top of the burnt orange dress is the top of the 50s style halter dress (again enlarged a bit) with a simple circle skirt for the bottom. The bustle is something contrived by necessity and I guess I could explain but is kind of strange. I'll try and explain if someone really wants to know.

I don't think poppets are too hard. Parts of it may seem a bit tricky, but once you figure it out it's not bad. Plus the more you make them, the easier they get.

Depending on how the timing ends up, I'd join this one. It all depends on whether I end up moving or not.
