1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Amigurumi "Tickle" on: June 24, 2008 07:50:04 PM
So after looking at a bunch of patterns for amigurumi, I decided to wing it... I've got quite a few of these little guys now, and just keep making more.

3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / My Singer 1120 on: July 22, 2005 08:33:28 AM
I'm not sure if this is in the right category, but here goes.
I just got my Singer 1120 sewing machine last night... it was working fine all last night until around 2:30am.  The lower thread isn't releasing from the hook and the whole machine gets jammed.  I really don't know who to ask or what to do.  I have spent 2 hrs trying to get any dust out of it or lube it with the oil that was given... nothing seems to work.  I haven't even finished my first project!
Any comments or suggestions as to what I should do next would be great.  I would take it to a fabric/craft store, but there isn't one close to here.  We have Walmart and Michaels around here, but the people that work there or in that section don't seem to know anything about sewing.. I've spoken with them before.
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Pretty Red Memory Wire Bracelet on: July 20, 2005 09:28:55 AM
Used Lg Bracelet sized memory wire... this has 4 loops.  I wanted a pretty red bracelet with bunches of beads, so I went to target to look around.  They had absolutely nothing I liked, so I went to Michaels and made one!
I've actually sold one just like it since!

5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / First Post Ever.... on: July 20, 2005 09:07:00 AM

Comments welcome!

6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Finishing Off Veil on: December 21, 2004 07:47:33 PM
I went to the craft store and bought myself some netting, a hair comb, thread, and a needle.  Last night I made myself a very short cage veil.  It looks like one of those veils on vintage hats and just covers the face.  If it was longer, I wouldn't worry so much about the ends, but it doesn't look very professional at the bottom.  I don't want to stitch ribbon onto the ends, I just want it to look finished.  How can I do that?
