21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: OOOOO Spooky! Halloween Swap SIGN UP IS SHORT - SEPT 23-27 SEND BY OCT 11 on: September 27, 2005 01:26:56 AM
I'm always lamenting the lack of Halloween in Aus, so it's about time I did something about it.

FYI - my partner won't be receiving anything bought, so I'll make a few extra little things.
22  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / AUSTRALIA / Sydney spinners / wet felters / needle felters / fibre artists? on: September 27, 2005 01:20:57 AM
I'm really into spinning and fibre arts at the moment and dabble in a little wet felting and needle felting when I have the time.

Anyone else in Sydney with similar interests?

I was hoping that we could either make this thread a place to share our resourses and tips or that maybe we could have some kind of meetup or crafty gathering?

24  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Squid Swap POSTPONED!! on: September 26, 2005 11:04:33 PM
Swap name: Squid Swap
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: jadey_mcshadey
Sign-up date range: 27 Sep - 18 Oct 2005
Date to send item by: 18 Nov 2005

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): no

Non-U.S. participants allowed? yes

All ages allowed? Or 18+? all ages

Organizer is aware of current list of "suspended traders"
list and will not allow those members to participate: YES

Organizer meets the 4 conditions for swapping and will make sure that every participant meets these conditions: YES

Details of swap:

Craftin' with mollusks in mind, let your imagination go wild. A cephalipod case (get it?), a stuffed giant octopus, a skirt with an embroidered squid. I'd personally like to see a knit hat with 8 legs and an ink steam, but that's just me.

Please be aware of another rule that I have added for this swap. Do not send me your information without commenting in this tread. I don't care if you comment with one word or a pirate joke or your favourite recipe, it just makes it easier for me to contact you and check on your details.

The five rules are vital if you want to be in this swap. I won't be allowing anyone who doesn't meet these conditions to join the swap.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

Smiley trashy is a hell of a lot better than frumpy. Plus, God wouldn't have given us hot pink bras if he didn't want us to show them off!

I'll organise and post sign-ups today or tomorrow, if there are no other volunteers.
27  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: baker's hat on: September 26, 2005 09:53:52 PM
Seriously, how awesome are little kids, I have a young cousin and I sometimes make her & I matching skirts, which she just loves. It's like this tiny person thinks I'm the cleverest, most creative person in the world! Rad.

Your little one is adorable.

I received a great package from Coreisten today, a gorgeous, soft hot pink and lime green stripey scarf and a pink and white cell cozie with a rad sushi button. THANKS!!

I'm going to wear the scarf tonight and people will be so jealous.

My computer is sadly very dead, so I won't be able to upload any photos for a while, if you took any before you sent, could you please post them? I did, however, take pics of what I sent, so here they are:

Kristen asked for a brown tote bag, but I couldn't decide if the large or small bag was better, so I just sent them both:

Except that I took the second photo before I added the button to the flap.

One of these days, I'll learn to take pics of stuff before I send it away!

I like the off-shoulder shirt, but then I'm tacky and I don't mind people seeing my bra straps. Of coarse, I'm chronically single, so it's really the only way anyone gets to see how cute my pants are!
30  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: The Unconditional Swapper Swap on: September 26, 2005 09:35:48 PM
Ooh! Rainbow soap! That's fantastic.

I also received from the lovely princess_me, a set of lovely candy-coloured US sized crochet hooks!

I hope I don't go to hell for hotlinking, but my computer is broken and it's the only way I can show off what I got. She sent the ones on the left:

Thanks Dori!
